Ballarat R3
Design Rouge from the Maher and Eustace team looks to be the best winning chance of this race. He has some good form behind him being just off subsequent winners Prince of Caviar and Extra Brut. He is stepping up to the mile but that looks like it will suit him nicely and he’s drawn a good barrier with a good rider and should get the money.

Ballarat R5
For a bit more value, I quite like Hifranc from the Weir stable in this race. This horse has been gradually improving and the further in distance he goes, the better he seems to race. The High Chaparral in him means he relishes distance and he was an impressive winner over 2100m with a big weight last start.
The current favourite Penthouse Playboy, also from the Weir yard, will be tough to beat. It has been racing in good form and it only just got beat by another handy stayer in Arohata last start.
Tip: Hifranc $3.20 place, Penthouse Playboy $3.50/$1.50
Warwick Farm R6
Sexy eyes from the Waller stable looks to be a sneaky chance in this race. She has had a bit of a freshen up and has good fresh from over this distance. The Written Tycoon mare has also hardly put in a poor run this preparation and should go well in this race. You can’t knock the Waller and Bowman partnership.
The favourite from the Godolphin stable, Almanzora will be the one to beat. It is also coming off a quick freshen up and is good form. The 1100m is the query and but James McDonald is a superb rider and they’ve drawn a good gate to be able to sit on the speed and kick away to the finish.
