EPL Matchday 5 Preview and Expert Tips

Tottenham vs Liverpool – Saturday September 15, 9.30pm

Liverpool have been the league’s most impressive side to start the season, although they’ll face their toughest test this weekend, when they travel to the nation’s capital to face Tottenham.

Wins over West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester have the Reds sitting on 12 points from 12, with only one goal against (Allison’s horror mistake) to their name.

The Spurs began with wins over Newcastle, Fulham and Manchester United, although a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the undefeated Watford halted Tottenham’s great start.

With players coming back from international duty, this match may not feature each club’s best 11, although it still should prove to be a pulsating contest.

Liverpool’s centre back pairing of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez have both impressed so far this season, while Tottenham’s Lucas Moura recorded three goals and one assist during August, to be named the Premier League’s Player of the Month.

In terms of a result, it looks to be anyone’s game, although you can be sure they’ll be some goals involved, with nine goals across the two fixtures last season.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals - $1.62

Bournemouth v Leicester – Sunday September 16, 12am

Normally all three preview matches include big clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, but given all of their opponents this weekend, this match between the Cherries and the Foxes looks a little more enticing.

Bournemouth started with two wins from two before a draw and a loss to Chelsea, while Leicester have beaten Southampton and Wolverhampton, while losing to Manchester United and Liverpool.

Jamie Vardy returns from suspension for Leicester, and will be hoping to add a little bite to their attacking line, after the Foxes struggled to trouble Liverpool for the majority of the afternoon last time out.

Both meetings last season ended in a draw, and it certainly looking like that could happen once again.

Tip: Draw $3.25

Watford v Manchester United – Sunday September 16, 2.30am

Even though the Tottenham and Liverpool matchup is between two top four sides, this clash could arguably be the biggest of the weekend.

Watford have started with four wins from four, with an impressive 2-1 victory over the Spurs last week.

United on the other hand have struggled through their first four matches, with two wins and two losses seeing them sit 10th on the table.

The Red Devils have been playing some unattractive football, and Jose Mourinho’s future continues to be questioned, with the ‘Special One’ seemingly uninterested in changing his game style.

With the Hornets firing on all cylinders to start the season, they’re certainly at great value to take all three points here.

Tip: Watford win $4.00
