Race Overview
The Colgate Optic White Stakes (formerly the George Main Stakes) looks to become the Winx show again as the wonder mare looks to add to her already impressive resume in preparation for her fourth straight Cox Plate. Winx shoots for a three-peat in the race, as well as going for her 20th Group 1 victory and also consecutive win number 27! The race has a prestigious honour board with star milers More Joyous, Lonhro and Kingston Town all having previously taken out the race.
Race Speed
Religify likes to roll forward and should take up the running here which should ensure a decent tempo in the race. Ace High and Le Romain will like be the next pair, but apart from those trio there isn’t much other speed in the race – maybe Bowman pushes forward on Winx? Egg Tart, Who Shot Thebarman and Unforgotten will be at the rear.

- LE ROMAIN ($13.00)
Resumed brilliantly first up to take out a Group 3 at Randwick when he sat behind the leaders and quickened impressively. Last start had excuses when caught wide without cover throughout the race, yet still managed to finish 1.6L away at Group 2 level. Won’t be too far away.
- WINX ($1.10)
There’s not much to be said here, but Winx is aiming to make it 27 wins on the trot after returning impressively first up in the race named after her. She looked a little vulnerable coming round the bend but it didn’t take her long to produce her customary sprint and put them away with ease. Will go even better second up and should canter in here.
- UNFORGOTTEN ($12.00)
Unforgotten may be a little forgotten here in what should be the Winx show (as is each time she races), but let’s not forget that this mare is super impressive herself. Last start was blocked for a run until about the 200m where she burst clear to win impressively. Look for another good run here third up.

Barring disaster it looks to be a familiar story whenever Winx runs. Bowman should be able to get her into a beautiful spot in the run and then peel out wide and let the great mare knuckle down and do her thing. Sit back and enjoy!
