Bluey’s Best Racing Bets – Wednesday 12 September

Racing Betting Guide Wednesday, September 12

Bendigo R3

There are a few horses in the market in this race however Yulong Meteor looks to be over the odds. In her first run for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace she won impressively over 1400m at Pakenham and beat a horse that could’ve won yesterday at Wodonga but was scratched at the barriers.

The stable have a big opinion of this horse and they have labelled it as a potential Oaks filly, but she also holds a nomination for the Thousand Guineas.

Of the other runners in the market, Last Vein from the McEvoy yard looks to be the biggest danger. She won well over 1300m at Geelong last start and this will be her fourth run for the prep, so she will be at peak fitness.

Tip: Yulong Meteor win $4

First Light Racing’s Smart Coupe is kicking off her spring campaign in this race and looks to be the best chance. This mare has a lot of ability and was desperately unlucky to not have had a win last preparation. Her only other start over 1000m she ran a length behind The Everest bound Nature Strip first-up last prep and this will be her first start out of the city since her first start ever when she broke her maiden at Wangaratta.

Another horse from the Ellerton/Zahra yard that looks to be a strong chance is Prezado. This horse ran a strong second at Flemington in a BM90 last start and beat some smart horses such as Invincible Al and Sunday Escape.

Tip: Smart Coupe win $3.30

Last start winner Za Zi Ba is a good chance to get her second win in a row. This race is a slight step down in grade and Sam Weatherley will claim two kilos to bring her weight down to 58.5kg. After two runs this prep, she should be rock hard fit and won’t have to do much work from barrier three, so she is a great winning chance.

The favourite is Coruscate from the Godolphin stable and it has drawn barrier 14 which is not ideal however James McDonald is an absolute gun rider and should be able to navigate his way into a decent position in the run. The gelding won his last start well and was first-up for this campaign, so he will strip fitter for this task. This is a step up in grade though and with the bad barrier, it will be impressive if he were to win.

Tip: Za Zi Ba win $3.10
