The Saints impressive season continued last week with a big win over the Panthers. At 9-3, they control the NFC South division and will face another divisional opponent this week in the Falcons. The running game is the key and Drew Brees is having another great season under centre.

After a close loss to the Vikings strong defence last week, the Falcons can improve their chances of a playoff berth with a win against the Saints. But the Falcons haven’t been at their best in their new stadium this season with a 3-3 record.

In the last 22 meetings, the Saints are 15-7 against the Falcons. But the Falcons did go 2-0 against them last season.

Point Spread:

Despite a 7-5 record, the Falcons are just favourites in the point spread. But the Falcons have covered in just 3 of their last 9 games. Whereas the Saints are 7-3 ATS and 4-1 ATS on the road. This will likely be close and we’re taking the Saints.

Total Points:

In the last two meetings, the two sides have combined for 70 and 77 points. So the over total points at 54.5 seems low. The Saints are 10-5 against the over total in their last 15 games. The Falcons are 13-4 against the over at home. Take the over.

Saints WIN ($1.94)
In one of the best Friday matchups this season, we’re looking forward to Drew Brees against Matt Ryan. Both defences are evenly matched but the Saints are just better on offence. They also have the NFC South title in their minds and we think that’ll be enough to win this.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers

Odds: Steelers $1.45, Ravens $2.85

Form Guide:

Baltimore have won three straight games and this is a key game for their wildcard hopes. They have a 7-5 record and sit in the 6th AFC wildcard spot.

Pittsburgh escaped for the second straight 3 point win last week. But they’ve still won 7 in a row and have a 4-0 record against the NFC North.

Head to Head Record:

The Steelers thrashed the Ravens 26-9 earlier this season in Baltimore. In Pittsburgh, the Ravens are 3-0 against the Steelers and would love to avenge the first meeting.

Point Spread:

The Ravens are +5.5 underdogs but they can get within this point spread. The Steelers D has started slowly in back to back games and the Ravens are hitting form at the right end of the season. Also, the Steelers have won via a field goal in their two wins so we’re backing the Ravens to cover the line.
Best bet: Ravens +5.5 ($1.82)

Total Points:

The trend in this matchup is the under total which is a 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings. The under is also 4-1 when the Steelers play the Ravens at home. They combined for just 35 points in the first meeting and we’re expecting both defences will dominate play.
Best bet: Under 44.5 points ($1.82)

Tip:

Ravens WIN ($2.85)
This is a danger game for the Steelers as they’ve been lucky in the last few weeks. They also have injury/suspension concerns. The Ravens have a good record in Pittsburgh and would be a good value bet at $2.85.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Date: Tuesday 12:30 pm. Venue: Miami Gardens
Odds: Dolphins $1.17, Patriots $5.40

Form Guide:

The 10-2 Patriots head to Miami for another clash against the Dolphins. They thrashed the Bills last week, but did lose Gronk to suspension.

Miami’s season is over at 5-7 but they would love to knock off the Patriots at home. However, the Dolphins lost 35-17 just 2 weeks ago against them. They rebounded with a 35-9 win over the Broncos but this will be another tough challenge.

Head to Head Record:

In the last 10 meetings, the Patriots are 7-3 against the Dolphins. In Miami, the Patriots are even better with a 5-1 record.

Point Spread:

The line is again 10+ in this matchup and the Pats have covered the line in 5 straight games. They also have a 8-1 ATS record on the road and 5-1 ATS against the Dolphins. The Pats defence will be strong again and we’re backing the Pats to cover.
Best bet: Patriots -10.5 ($1.89)

Total Points:

The under total has been a good bet lately in Patriot games. The defence hasn’t allowed over 17 points in their 8 game winning streak. The Dolphins average just 15 points per game and will likely struggle again. So we would take the under.
Best bet: Under 47 points (TBA)

Patriots HT/FT ($1.40)
In the end, the Patriots won’t suffer too much without Gronk and will continue their winning ways in Miami. The Dolphins offence struggles and they have nothing to play for in terms of playoffs.
