The 1200 metre classic under lights this year has assembled a great field with a number of stars backing up from the tough Everest run at Randwick a couple of weeks ago.
“We put up $5 about Vega Magic after his slashing and unlucky run in the Everest and the punters were lining up to take that price. It is our worst liability in the book with the David Hayes star sprinter now into $2.35 after drawing beautifully in barrier 3,” said BlueBet CEO Michael Sullivan.
“We are however happy to take on the star sprinter with In Her Time drawing inside Vega Magic and we expect these two to tussle for the lead and expect plenty of pace on.”
For those punters who have forgotten about the big grey flash Chautauqua, we feel the $7 is terrific value considering he did run the fastest last 600 in the Everest and was closing fast on the rest of the field. The Gai Waterhouse trained sprinter English will be met with support on the night and we feel English is well over due for a bit of luck in one of these Group 1 races and $13 seems a great price particularly for each way punters.
Vega Magic 2.35
In her Time 5.50
Chautauqua 7.00
English 13.00
