Enjoy some Saturday NFL action in Week 1 as AFC West rivals, the Chargers against the Chiefs, clash in Brazil.
Kansas City Chiefs (0-0) at Los Angeles Chargers (0-0)
The Chiefs will look to put their poor performance in last year's Super Bowl to bed with an improved showing in Week 1 against a team they love to beat. The Chiefs are looking to make it 8 straight wins over LA. For the Chargers, they made the playoffs last year before an early exit against the Texans. So, they'll be looking to build on their 11-6 record behind star QB Justin Herbert. Here is my same game multi predictions for this AFC West clash.
Leg #1 - Over 46.5 pts
I'm expecting a shootout in Brazil between two of the best QB's in the AFC. Keenan Allen is back for the Chargers and that should improve their scoring potential. Patrick Mahomes should have better protection with Josh Simmons, a 1st round pick. To top it off, the Over has a perfect 8-0 record when the Chiefs play an AFC opponent like the Chargers in the 1st week of the season.
Leg #2 - Chiefs WIN
The Chiefs have dominated the Chargers, winning the last 7 meetings. It's even better when they're on the road - 10-0. LA also don't have the best record early on in the season, winning just 3 of their last 9 September games. I think after the Super Bowl defeat, the Chiefs will be eager to get back out there and prove they're still the best team in the league.
Leg #3 - Justin Herbert 2+ Passing Touchdowns
Herbert is the key for the Chargers and if they fall behind early, he'll be slinging it down field to get his team back into the contest. He gets Keenan Allen back in the lineup, one of his favourite targets. Ladd McConkey comes off an impressive rookie season too. Herbert was in great touch at the end of the last season, throwing 2+ touchdowns in 4 of his last 5 games.
Leg #4 (Value) - Keenan Allen Anytime Touchdown Scorer
There's some nice value here with Keenan Allen, who I've mentioned a bit. He'll probably lineup as the 3rd receiever in most formations so he likely won't have to deal with the Chiefs best defender. He's also a got a good record of scoring a touchdown when the Chargers are underdogs, he's done so in 4 of his last 6.
