It was a strange performance last start for the former New Zealander - And We Danced, who ambled up at the 300m to take the lead but was claimed by eventual winner Room Number who proved far too strong. And We Danced still put a space on third, so it’s possible that he was just out done on the day. He looks to still have improvement to come & is still settling into Australian racing. Can improve here.
MOONEE VALLEY RACE 6 – 15:40 AEDT
- AGNELLI ($5.50)
Agnelli looks like the type of horse which needs a bit of racing to hit his straps & I think he can do that here third up. He was only fair upon resumption, finishing 4.65L away, but he was vetted in that race, so that is a possible forgive run. He was better last start, settling midfield and chasing strongly to finish around a length away. He looks primed for this now & with the right run, he can finish over the top of them.
- RULE OF LAW ($2.50)
The Bjorn Baker trained Rule Of Law will be looking to make it four on the trot here, and he certainly looks a great chance to do so against this field. He has been strong in each of his starts, but last start proved he had plenty of fight in him, duelling with Joviality down the straight & prevailing. He draws gate 1 here which should be perfect for the speedy gelding.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- KINSHIP ($14)
Kinship has returned in strong form this prep; he finished just outside the placings first up, ran a decent third at Gilgandra second up & then scored a strong all-the-way win at Newcastle last start. He steps up to 1500m for the first time, but has scored a win over 1400m before, despite enduring a wide run. He’s tended to hang in the straight recently & if he can correct that, he might be hard to get past in this open affair.
