NFL Tips & Betting Preview Week 6 | BlueBet

New York Giants at New England Patriots

Tom Brady will break another record on Friday with just 18 passing yards needed to move into 2nd spot on the all-time list. The Patriots are 5-0 early on in season 2019 after comfortable wins over the AFC East and the Redskins. The Pats defence has been on fire with just 6.8 points allowed per game and 11 total interceptions. They’re the best passing defence in the league as well. The only area they’ve struggled has been the running game but Sony Michel is coming off his best game of the season (91 yards, 1 TD). The Giants are 2-3 and will need to be at their 100% best to knock off the red-hot Pats. Last week, the Giants lost at home to the Vikings 28-10 and have a number of injury problems. Especially at running back with Barkley and Gallman Jr. suffering injuries in recent weeks. On defence, the Giants have struggled to stop both the pass and run. So it’s going to be a tough ask against the Patriots offence on their home turf. Interestingly, the Giants have a great record in New England, covering in the last 5 matchups. However, they’ve running with rookie QB Daniel Jones and Bill Belichick will made it hard for them to move the ball. So we’re liking the chances of the Under based on the Patriots defensive dominance. The Under has saluted in 5 of their last 6 games since the Super Bowl and it’s also 5-2 at Gillette Stadium.

Stadium Record

New England has won both home games in 2019. The Giants have a nice 4-2 record here.

Head to Head Record

The Giants have won 3 of the last 4. Which includes the 2 Super Bowl victories.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

Monday morning features an intriguing NFC West battle between the undefeated 49ers and the 3-2 Rams. San Francisco is coming off a dominating 31-3 victory over the Browns so it looks like the 49ers are ready to compete in the division again. Their defence is much improved and they made Baker Mayfield look second rate last week. Meanwhile, they’re running game is ranked 1st in the NFL and Breida had a field day against the Browns. This is a massive home game for the Rams because they’re starting to lose ground in the division. They suffered a nail-biting loss to the Seahawks last Friday and a 3-3 record would make it tough to win the NFC West. It all starts with their passing game getting on top of the 49ers and Todd Gurley is starting to build more confidence after a knee injury last season. The 49ers defence has been great to watch but this matchup against the Rams high powered offence should be a lot tougher. So we like the chances of a high scoring affair. The Rams were involved in a 55-40 shootout in their last home game and the Over also has a nice 4-1 record when they play the 49ers. San Francisco also holds a 6-3 Overs record in road games.

Stadium Record

Since 2016, the 49ers hold a 2-1 record at this venue. In 2019, the Rams have split their 2 games at home.

Head to Head Record

The Rams punished the 49ers last season, 48-32 and 39-10. But overall, the 49ers have won 14 of the last 22 meetings.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers

Monday’s feature game of the week sees the desperate Steelers and Chargers looking for a much needed win. The LA Chargers have been inconsistent with a 2-3 record and a string of close home losses haven’t helped. They were beaten by the Broncos defence last week in the 20-13 result and previously couldn’t stop the Texans on their home turf (27-20). Phillip Rivers will need to take better care of the football after 2 interceptions last week and their run defence can be concerning. Pittsburgh can count themselves as unlucky after a 1-4 start to the season. They’ve lost their last 3 games by 3 points (Ravens), 4 points (49ers) and 2 points (Seahawks). But injuries just keep on piling up. Big Ben is already on the sidelines and his replacement Mason Rudolph may have to sit this one with concussion. So they’ll likely have to run the ball a bit more with James Conner. As the Colts showed last week, teams can overcome injuries and the Steelers have a similar feeling about them. They’ve lost a number of close games so they should be confident of keeping this one close against the inconsistent Chargers. History is also on their side with a 5-1 ATS record against them on the road and they’ve also won 4 of the last 6 road games against LA.

Stadium Record

The Chargers have lost back to back home games and just beat the Colts in OT in Week 1. Pittsburgh has never played at the venue.

Head to Head Record

The two sides met last season and the Chargers outlasted them by a field goal (33-30). But the Steelers have the wood over them with 9 wins in the last 12.

Best Bet

Steelers +6.5 $1.94

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers

It’s an old fashioned NFC North matchup on Tuesday when the Packers host the Lions. Green Bay leads the division with a 4-1 record after an impressive start to the 2019 season. Last week, they continued their good record in Dallas with a 34-24 victory. Packers RB Aaron Jones found the endzone 4 times as he dominated on the ground and in the passing game. They’ve historically dominated the Lions at Lambeau (22-3) and they won’t be happy about losing the last 4 meetings against Detroit. The Lions are back from a Week 4 bye and a close loss to the Chiefs last time out. Their passing game continues to be strong with Matt Stafford. But they also showed off their running game with a dominant performance on the Chiefs. So they should look to the ground game against the Packers mediocre run defence. With the Lions sitting 2nd in the division, this is a such an important game if they’re wanting to win the NFC North. The Over has saluted in the Packers last 3 games and the Lions are 3-1 against the Over this season. So we like the chances of a high scoring affair between these two rivals. They can both successfully move the chains on the ground and that should open up the field for both QB’s to pile on the points. The Over has also saluted in 6 of the last 7 games between the two teams.

Stadium Record

Green Bay has won 6 of their last 9 home games. Detroit has a horrible 3-22 record in Green Bay but they have won the last 2.

Head to Head Record

The Lions hold a 4-0 record against the Packers since 2017 and that includes a 31-0 drubbing last December.
