Euro 2020: England ($2.40) vs Germany ($2.87) – 30th June @2am
England will face Germany in a massive Round of 16 match at 2am Wednesday at Wembley.
The old rivals will renew hostilities following England finishing top of Group D without conceding a goal.
Meanwhile, Germany salvaged a 2-2 draw which meant they finished second in Group F behind tournament favourites France.
That result means that England and Germany will replay a Euro ’96 semi-final at Wembley, which the Germans won via a penalty shootout before going on to win the competition.
This is truly a gargantuan match between two nations who share a famous rivalry, and possibly an opportunity for England manager Gareth Southgate to exorcise the demons of 25 years ago when he missed a penalty which cost his country the game.
Team News
Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount will likely be unavailable as they are still self-isolating having come into contact with Chelsea teammate Billy Gilmour after the England vs Scotland game.
Germany coach Joachim Low is still looking to find some consistency with his team, but he is unlikely to make any major changes for a match that should be very tight.
Players to Watch
Declan Rice: This game feels like it will hang on a knife-edge and will likely be won by the team who can gain the ascendency in midfield. Rice is up against two technicians in Gundogan and Kroos. The West Ham midfielder, alongside Kalvin Phillips, will need to play the game of his life to beat a tournament tough German side.
Kai Havertz: The Chelsea attacker has proven he is a man meant for the big stage, scoring the winning goal in last season’s Champions League final and bagging against Portugal in the group stage. He takes on a lot of attacking responsibility, particularly as Germany do not have an obvious number nine.
Key Stats
- England have not conceded a goal at Euro 2020
- Germany have not kept a clean sheet in their last six matches

Sweden have had a huge boost after Emil Forsberg declared himself hit to play after missing training on Saturday.
For Ukraine, Dynamo Kiev midfielder Viktor Tsygankov could come into the lineup in place of club team-mate Mykola Shaparenko.
