Premier League Preview: Matchday 32
Fulham vs Manchester City
Manchester City travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Saturday night at 11.30pm AEDT. Only a victory will be beneficial for City as they attempt to displace Liverpool at the top of the table. City are in incredible form and have won 11 games in a row. To put it on a grander scale, they have won 19 of their past 20 games in all competition. Raheem Sterling’s 25 goals for club and country this campaign has put him in contention for individual awards at the end of the season.
Only a miracle will prevent Fulham from avoiding relegation this season and the same can be said about the possibilities of taking points off City. The Cottagers showed signs of improvement in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool, but yet again errors at the back cost them the game. City won 3-0 the last time these sides met.
Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 @ $8.00
Manchester United vs Watford
After two defeats in a row, could the honeymoon be over for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at Manchester United? The Red Devils’ defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League could be put down to the players taking their eyes off the game after their win over PSG in the Champions League. However, their defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup would concern Solksjaer because of the ease Wolves were able to counter attack the Red Devils.
The Red Devils will need to be at their best to beat Watford as they are in solid form. The Hornets sit eighth on the table after winning three of their last five games in the league. They are also through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, which will give the squad a further boost when they take the field at Old Trafford.
The only time Watford have ever won at Old Trafford was a 2-1 victory in the League Cup in 1978.
Prediction: Manchester United win @ $1.40
Liverpool vs Tottenham
The Premier League returns with a mouth-watering clash between two sides that can ill-afford to drop points. A victory over Tottenham could put the Reds on course to win their first Premier League title in 29 years. is arguably the most in-form player in the Premier League and will play a massive role in the Reds’ attempts to beat the Spurs. With Mohamed Salah failing to score in seven games, Mane has become the main man in attack and has scored seven goals in his last five games in all competitions for the Reds.
Tottenham are in a mini form slump and require a victory to end their freefall out of the top four. The Spurs have lost three of their last four games in the league and now sit only three points ahead of the fifth placed Manchester United. Harry Kane is one player that would be keen to return to the winner’s list as has he has not tasted a victory in the Premier League since New Year’s Day.
Prediction: Draw @ $4.00
