EPL Betting Preview & Tips | Matchweek 34

Southampton vs Leicester City

The Foxes will travel to St Mary’s on Saturday, May 1 at 5:00am (all times AEST).

Two clubs at either end of the table, the Foxes and Saints will face off in the southern ranges of England in hope of claiming three vital premiership points.

Southampton will be looking to go one step closer to securing their place in the top-flight for another season as they currently stand nine points from the drop zone with six games left in their campaign.

Back-to-back defeats at the hands of Tottenham and West Brom have seen the Saints plummet to 15th on the Premier League table and forced to look over their shoulder in the final stretch of the season.

Sandwiched between those two losses was their loss to this weekend’s opponents in the FA Cup semi-final tie, with the Foxes moving onto the Final with a 1-0 victory.

Brendan Rodgers’ men will be hoping for more of the same, however this time around his side will be on the road as opposed to the neutral venue of Wembley Stadium.

Leicester will be looking for their fourth win in a row across all competitions in matchweek 34, with a victory set to further strengthen their claim for a top-three finish.

A four-point gap is currently wedged between the Foxes and fourth-placed Chelsea, who are tipped for a victory this weekend against West London rival Fulham.

The corresponding league fixture saw the Foxes prevail at home in a 2-0 victory, with James Maddison and Harvey Barnes finding the back of the net.

Our Tip: Leicester Win @ $2.00

Everton vs Aston Villa

The Toffees will welcome Aston Villa to Goodison Park on Sunday, May 2 at 5:00am.

Everton’s hopes of a top-four finish remain as lively as ever, with the Merseysiders currently six points away from the upper echelon with a game-in-hand.

Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping his impressive return to English football is rewarded with a place in the Champions League next season, and will require as many points as possible as we enter the final few games of the campaign.

In their way this weekend are the Midlands giants Aston Villa, who will be hoping for a spark of their own as they sit on a three-game winless run.

Currently perched in 11th place, Dean Smith’s side could leap into the top half of the standings with a victory this weekend, as they travel to Goodison Park.

In the reverse fixture, both teams were standed to a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser by veteran winger Theo Walcott, whose services are currently placed with Southampton on loan.

His absence has been no hindrance for the men in blue however, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and James Rodriguez leading from the front.

That trio are sure to cause plenty of headaches for the Villains this weekend, who are sure to add plenty of fight-back given their impressive defensive record this season.

At the other end of the pitch, it’s likely to be just as fiery, with Villa striker Ollie Watkins having a breakout year in his debut season in the top-flight, while Everton’s backline look to continue their no-nonsense style.

Our Tip: Everton Win @ $2.00

Manchester United vs Liverpool

The two red giants go into battle at Old Trafford on Monday, May 3 at 1:30am.

Arguably the biggest derby in English football, Manchester United and Liverpool will face-off in what is the showcase fixture of the weekend.

The Red Devils are currently sitting pretty in second place and will be eager to further strengthen their potential title bid with a win over their rivals from the Merseyside.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping for a perfect week given the club will welcome Italian giants Roma in their Europa League clash three days prior.

Liverpool on the other hand will be well rested and hopeful of snapping their current run of draws, failing to collect wins against Leeds and Newcastle in recent weeks.

In what will be the 235th matchup between these two clubs, the Reds will require all three points if they are to stay in touch of a Champions League qualification placing.

United and Liverpool last clashed in the FA Cup in January, seven days after their 0-0 outing in the Premier League. The domestic fixture went the way of the Mancunian club in a 3-2 showing.

A similar result this weekend slip to eighth place, as Tottenham and cross-town rivals Everton remain hot on their tails.

A win however could see Jurgen Klopp’s men rise one place into fifth and mount further pressure on the top four.

Our Tip: Both Teams To Score @ $1.64
