Manchester United vs Leicester City
After the season’s first international break, the Premier League is set to resume with some enticing match-ups this weekend.
Following United’s 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea to start the season, the Red Devils have picked up just two points from their past three games, and currently sit in eighth on the table.
A draw at Southampton last time out saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fail to win again, and United could be missing some key personnel this weekend.
Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are all under injury clouds, and with the Europa League starting the following week, it could see Solskjaer err on the side of caution with some of his stars.
Brendan Rogers’ Leicester have fired to form after a slow start, backing up two draws with two wins, including a 3-1 triumph over Bournemouth last weekend to sit third on the table.
Jamie Vardy was instrumental in that contest, bagging a brace as well as an assist, as he begins to find some form.
The Englishman already has three goals to his name this season, and given the Foxes’ recent run of form, they should be good enough to grab at least a point at Old Trafford.
Prediction: Leicester +1.0 @ $2.00
Wolves vs Chelsea
Both clubs will be aiming for a spot among the European places at the end of the season, although Wolves and Chelsea currently find themselves in the bottom 10 after four rounds.
Three straight draws to open the season were followed up by a 3-2 loss to Everton last time out, as the Wanderers seem to be struggling with juggling their Europa League commitments.
Wolves played midweek fixtures before each of their first four games, but did enough to qualify for the Europa League group stages.
They’ve had the full international break to prepare for this clash, which can only be a benefit to manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Chelsea on the other hand have bounced back following their 4-0 loss to United on the opening weekend, picking up five points from their past three games and going undefeated since the loss.
Tammy Abraham has been impressive with four goals to start the campaign, while Mason Mount has shown some impressive signs as well.
Frank Lampard’s squad is quite young and still learning, but they might just be able to sneak a win on the road in this one.
Prediction: Chelsea to win @ $2.40
Watford vs Arsenal
The Hornets will enter this clash off the back of a big managerial move, with Javi Garcia replaced by former coach Quique Sanchez Flores.
Garcia oversaw Watford’s first four games this season, as they club slumped to the foot of the table with just one point from four games.
Sanchez Flores has been brought back to the club, after he guided Watford to a mid-table finish in 2015-16, and a strong FA Cup run that same season.
The Hornets will be looking for an improved performance in Sanchez Flores’ (second) first outing as manager.
Arsenal came back from 2-0 down to rescue a point against Tottenham last weekend, as they find themselves in fifth after four matches.
The Gunners faced both Champions League final sides in back-to-back weeks in Liverpool and Tottenham, and will be hoping for an easier contest in this one.
Watford will look to get on the front foot in this one, so there should be goals flying in at both ends.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals @ $1.58
