Everton vs Arsenal
In the first game of the weekend, two clubs without permanent managers will go head to head at Goodison Park.
The Toffees were led by interim coach Duncan Ferguson to a respectable 1-1 draw at Manchester United last weekend, while Arsenal were no match for Manchester City 3-0, with Freddie Ljungberg in charge for the time being.
Both sides certainly find themselves lower on the table than where they’d like to be as we enter the final weekend before Christmas, with the Gunners in 10th and Everton just three points above the relegation zone in 16th.
Ferguson has helped his former side out of a slump, with four points from his first two games in charge, while Ljungberg only has four points from four matches.
However, this could be the final match for both coaches, as Carlo Ancelotti and Mikel Arteta could both be made permanent managers of both Everton and Arsenal respectively in the coming days.
Prediction: Both teams to score – Yes @ $1.48
Manchester City vs Leicester City
This is a huge match up for both sides, make no mistake about it.
With Liverpool over in Qatar for the Club World Cup and having their match with West Ham postponed into the new year, both sides will have the opportunity to close the gap on the Reds at the top of the table.
Entering the weekend, Leicester are 10 points behind, while City are 14 points behind Liverpool, with the Reds defeating both sides at Anfield already this season.
City only drew two matches and had four losses for the entirety of last season, but have already matched that tally this season in just 17 games.
Before the Foxes’ draw to Norwich last weekend, Brendan Rodgers’ side had won eight straight matches, following their last-minute defeat to Liverpool.
Both sides played and won Carabao Cup quarter-final ties in mid-week, and will certainly be up for the contest.
Prediction: Leicester Draw No Bet @ $5.90
Tottenham vs Chelsea
It’s another grudge match for Spurs coach Jose Mourinho, as he welcomes his old side to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday morning.
Spurs have recently upped their game against the Blues in recent times, winning three of their past five matches against Chelsea. They had only won three of the 20 matches between the two sides before then.
Chelsea on the other hand have also found themselves struggling on the road against Tottenham winning just two of their past 13 matches against Spurs away from Stamford Bridge.
Fourth place will be up for grabs in this one, as Chelsea currently sits in fourth with 29 points, with Spurs in fifth on 26 points, while having a better goal difference.
Mourinho’s return match against Manchester United didn’t go his way earlier this season, but he should have some better fortune here.
Prediction: Tottenham to win @ $1.44
