Both teams are level on 36 points at the top of the ladder, with the Panthers holding top spot courtesy of points differential.
However, their recent form couldn't be more different. The Roosters are seven from seven coming into this clash, having thrashed the Cowboys then seen off a stern Bulldogs challenge.
Penrith, on the other hand, have collected four of their five losses this season in their last seven matches. Most recently, they were comprehensively beaten by the Warriors in another table-topping derby.
