2025 NRL Round 21 Betting Predictions

Round 21 kicks off in Sydney with a rivalry matchup between the Roosters and Storm on Thursday night at SFS. Here is a preview of every game this weekend.

Sydney Roosters (10th) vs Melbourne Storm (3rd)

The Roosters take on the Storm this week, coming off a 31-18 loss to the Sharks at Shark Park. They sit 10th on the ladder with an 8-9 record and have been patchy this season, going 4-5 at home and 4-4 on the road. They've won three of their last five and continue to impress in attack, ranking 5th in the NRL for both points and tries scored. However, ball control remains an issue—they’re among the worst in the comp for errors, sitting 4th overall in that department.

The Storm head into this clash with the Roosters sitting comfortably in 3rd spot on the ladder with a strong 12-5 record. They're coming off a tight 2-point loss to the Sea Eagles at home, but their recent form is solid, winning four of their last five. The Storm have been dominant in attack all year, leading the NRL in both points and tries scored. They've also travelled well with a 5-3 away record and have been even better at home, going 7-2.

Stadium Record

Sydney are 4-6 in their last 10 games at SFS. Melbourne are 3-2 in their last 5 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10 meetings, the Storm have won 9 games against the Roosters.

Best Bet

After a loss, the Storm are 19-0 and that's hard to back against. There's also motivation to win for Munster as he attends his dad's funeral this weekend.

Melbourne Storm -3.5 = $1.90

Same Game Multi

After 3 tries last week, Coates is probably the best chance to cross the line on THursday night. He's also scored in 4 of his last 5 against the Roosters. The Over should also salute, it's 6-1 in the Roosters last 7 home games.

Storm -3.5 / Over 46.5 pts / Xavier Coates Anytime Tryscorer = $5.35

North Queensland Cowboys (13th) vs St. George Illawarra Dragons (11th)

The Cowboys are struggling heading into their clash with the Dragons, sitting 13th on the ladder with a 6-11 record. They’ve lost their last three games, including a heavy 43-24 defeat to the Dolphins at Lang Park, and have managed just one win from their past five. Their form at home hasn’t been great either, going 3-1-5, and they’ve only picked up three wins from nine on the road. One of their biggest issues this season has been handling errors — they rank 2nd in the NRL for most errors made.

The Dragons head into this clash with the Cowboys in a bit of a slump, having lost their last three games and sitting 11th on the ladder with a 6-11 record. They went down in a close one last week, losing 20-18 to the Bulldogs at Stadium Australia. Away from home, they’ve struggled all season with just two wins from nine games, while their home form has been more balanced at 4-4. Like the Cowboys, they've only picked up one win in their last five outings and will be desperate to turn things around.

Stadium Record

North Queensland are 1-4 in their last 5 games at this venue. St. George are 1-3 at this venue since 2010.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10, the Cowboys hold a 7-3 record.

Best Bet

These two sides don't like defence and the Over is 4-0 when the Cowboys are at home against the Dragons.

Over 48.5 = $1.90

Brisbane Broncos (5th) vs Parramatta Eels (16th)

The Broncos are flying at the moment, riding a five-game winning streak and sitting 5th on the ladder with a 10-7 record. They took care of the Titans in Round 19 with a solid 26-14 win and have been one of the better attacking sides this season, ranking 4th in the NRL for both points and tries scored. They've been strong at home with a 6-2 record and have held their own on the road at 4-5. One area they’ll want to tidy up is their handling — they’re 5th in the comp for most errors made.

The Eels are doing it tough heading into their clash with the Broncos, sitting 16th on the ladder with a 5-12 record and on a three-game losing streak. They were outclassed by the Raiders last week, going down 40-16 in Canberra, and have only managed one win in their last five. Their attack has really struggled this season — they rank 15th in the NRL for both points and tries scored — and errors have been a major issue, sitting 3rd in the comp for most made. They've won just two of nine away games and have been inconsistent at home with a 3-5 record.

Stadium Record

Brisbane are 7-3 in their last 10 games at Suncorp. Parramatta are 1-4 in their last 5 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 5 meetings, the Broncos hold a 4-1 record against the Eels.

Best Bet

Moses is back for the Eels and that should improve their attack and the Broncos are in great form. The Over is 5-1 in the Eels last 6 at Suncorp so I like the chances of the total reaching 50+.

Over 48.5 = $1.90

New Zealand Warriors (4th) vs Gold Coast Titans (17th)

The Warriors are in strong form heading into their clash with the Titans, sitting 4th on the ladder with a 12-5 record and coming off back-to-back wins. They edged out the Knights 20-15 in Round 20 and have been solid both home and away, boasting a 6-2 record at home and 6-3 on the road. One of their big strengths this season has been ball control — they rank 1st in the NRL for the fewest errors made. With three wins from their last five, the Warriors look like genuine contenders heading into the business end of the season.

The Titans are stuck at the bottom of the ladder in 17th spot with a 4-13 record and are coming off four straight losses. Their most recent defeat was a heartbreaker, going down 21-20 to the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval. It’s been a tough season all round — they’ve only won once in their last five games, and their home (2-6) and away (2-7) records show just how much they've struggled to find consistency. They’ll be desperate to turn things around but face a big challenge against a red-hot Warriors side.

Stadium Record

New Zealand are 6-4 in their last 10 games at this venue. Gold Coast are 4-8 at this venue since 2010.

Head to Head Record

The Titans are 4-1 against the Warriors in the last 5 meetings.

Best Bet

There's no Tino for the Titans and I think they'll struggle over in NZ. They also have a poor 1-9 record against top 8 teams like the Warriors.

New Zealand Warriors -11.5 = $1.85

Penrith Panthers (6th) vs Wests Tigers (12th)

The Panthers are hitting their stride at the right time of the season, coming into this clash with the Tigers on a six-game winning streak. They’re sitting 6th on the ladder with a 9-7 record and have won their last five on the trot, including a convincing 30-10 win over the Rabbitohs last week at Western Sydney Stadium. They've been solid both home and away this year, going 5-4 at home and 4-1-3 on the road. With momentum on their side, the Panthers will be confident of keeping their run going against a struggling Tigers outfit.

The Tigers head into their clash with the Panthers sitting 12th on the ladder with a 7-11 record. They just scraped home last week with a narrow 21-20 win over the Titans at Leichhardt Oval, but overall they've only managed two wins from their last five. Scoring points has been a struggle all season — they rank 14th in the NRL for both points and tries scored. They've been patchy both home and away, going 3-6 at home and 4-5 on the road, and they'll need to lift big time to match it with a red-hot Panthers side.

Stadium Record

Penrith are 6-4 in their last 10 games at CommBank. Wests are 3-2 in their last 5 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10 meetings, the Panthers hold a 7-3 record against the Tigers.

Best Bet

The Under has an impressive 11-0 record when these two sides meet and it should get up again with the Panthers defence back in form.

Under 47.5 = $1.87

South Sydney Rabbitohs (15th) vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (8th)

The Rabbitohs are having a rough season, sitting 15th on the ladder with a 6-12 record and currently on a seven-game losing streak. They’re really struggling to put points on the board, ranking near the bottom of the NRL for both points and tries scored. Their recent form hasn’t been great either, losing all of their last five games, including a heavy 30-10 loss to the Panthers at Western Sydney Stadium. At home, they’ve won just four out of nine, and on the road, things haven’t been much better with only two wins from nine. It’s been a tough year for the Rabbitohs, and they’ll need a big turnaround to get back on track.

The Sharks are in decent form coming into their game against the Rabbitohs, sitting 8th on the ladder with a 10-8 record. They’ve won their last two matches, including a solid 31-18 victory over the Roosters at home. Sharks have been tough to beat at Sharks Stadium with a 7-2 record but have struggled a bit away from home, going 3-6 on the road. They’ve won three of their last five games and will be looking to keep that momentum going against a struggling Rabbitohs side.

Stadium Record

South Sydney have won their last 2 at this venue since 2022. Cronulla are 3-1 since 2017.

Head to Head Record

In the last 5 meetings, the Sharks have won 4 games against the Rabbitohs.

Best Bet

The Sharks have a 4-0 Overs record in Gosford and I think there will be plenty of points in this clash.

Over 48.5 = $1.90

Canberra Raiders (1st) vs Newcastle Knights (14th)

The Raiders are flying right now, sitting top of the ladder with a brilliant 15-3 record and riding an eight-game winning streak. They’re tough to beat at home too, going 8-1 at Canberra Stadium, and they’ve been solid away with a 7-2 record. Their attack has been on fire, ranking 3rd in the NRL for both points and tries scored, and they’ve done a great job keeping errors low, sitting 16th in the league for mistakes made. They smashed the Eels last week 40-16 and will be confident heading into their clash with the Knights.

The Knights are having a tough season, sitting 14th on the ladder with a 6-12 record and on a three-game losing streak. They just lost by five points to the Warriors at home and have only managed one win in their last five games. Scoring points and tries has been a real struggle — they’re ranked last in the NRL for both — and errors have been a big problem too, with the Knights topping the league for mistakes made. Their home form hasn’t helped either, winning just two of ten games, while they’ve been a bit better on the road with a 4-4 record.

Stadium Record

Canberra are 8-2 in their last 10 games at GIO Stadium. Newcastle are 3-2 in their last 5 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 5 meetings, the Knights have won 3 games against the Raiders.

Best Bet

The Raiders are 6-0 against the Over at home and day conditions should be suitable for throwing the ball around in attack for both sides.

Over 44.5 = $1.87

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (2nd) vs Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles (7th)

The Bulldogs are cruising this season, sitting 2nd on the ladder with a solid 13-4 record and riding a two-game winning streak. They've been consistent both home and away, boasting 6-2 at home and 7-2 on the road. Their recent form is good too, winning three of their last five games, including a tight 20-18 victory over the Dragons at Stadium Australia. The Bulldogs look confident and ready to take on the Sea Eagles.

The Sea Eagles are on a roll right now, sitting 7th on the ladder with a 9-8 record and riding a three-game winning streak. They just edged out the Storm 18-16 in Round 20, a win that’s given them plenty of confidence. Their form’s been solid overall, winning three of their last five games. They’ve been better at home this season with a 6-3 record but have struggled a bit on the road, going 3-5. The Sea Eagles will be looking to keep the momentum going against the Bulldogs.

Stadium Record

Canterbury are 1-4 in their last 5 games at this venue. Manly are 4-6 in their last 10 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10, the Sea Eagles are 9-1 against the Bulldogs.

Best Bet

A big win for the Sea Eagles last week and I think the Dogs are a bit off since signing Galvin. Manly are 6-0 ATS as an away team against the Dogs too.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles +3.5 = $1.95
