2023 NRL Round 19 Betting Predictions

Round 19 starts with the Sharks looking to pile on the points against the struggling Tigers at Comm Bank on Thursday night footy.

Wests Tigers (17th) vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (3rd)

The Tigers will be looking for a huge response after a 74-0 humiliation against the Cowboys in North QLD. However, they've lost their last 4 games and key injuries to their spine have crippled their confidence.

The Sharks thrashed the Dragons for their 2nd straight win. They've now beaten the Bulldogs 48-10 and Dragons 52-16. So a similar result does look likely against the wounded Tigers. It also helps that Nicho Hynes hasn't been selected for the Blues again.

The Over is usually a good play with the Tigers at the moment as they give up plenty of points. The Sharks are also 13-5 against the Over and could easily score 48+ themselves.

Stadium Record

In their last 5 games at the CommBank Stadium, Wests holds a 2-3 record. Cronulla are 2-1 at this venue since 2021.

Head to Head Record

Since 2018, the Sharks are 5-1 against the Tigers.

Best Bet

Over 48.5 = $1.85

St. George Illawarra Dragons (16th) vs Canberra Raiders (5th)

The Dragons have lost their last 2 by huge margins and will need to be better this week. They've given up 52 and 48 pts in the last 2 weeks alone at an average of 50 pts per game. They do have a good record at this venue but it's hard to trust their lack of defence at the moment.

The Raiders held on to beat the Titans 26-22 last week. They now sit 5th on the ladder and have won 4 of their last 5. This is a key game for their hopes of making the top 4 so they'll be looking to pile on the points.

There's a lot to play for the Raiders and they have a strong lineup in the Origin period. They should have no issues scoring points against a Dragons side that has seemingly given up on the season.

Stadium Record

St. George are 7-3 in their last 10 games at this venue. Canberra are looking for a 4th straight win.

Head to Head Record

The Raiders are 6-3 against the Dragons since 2018.

Best Bet

Canberra Raiders -10.5 = $1.90

Parramatta Eels (6th) vs New Zealand Warriors (8th)

The Eels are looking for a 6th straight win when they host the Warriors. They should be refreshed from the bye last week after beating the Dolphins 48-20. However, they'll be without Moses, Gutho and Campbell-Gillard due to Origin duty.

The Warriors were disappointing last week as they went down to the Rabbitohs 28-6. They struggled in the wet conditions so they'll be looking for a response on Saturday night. One of the advantages they will have is that they're not missing any players due to Origin.

Parra are missing a lot of experience in key positions and the Warriors should take advantage.

Stadium Record

Parramatta are 8-2 in their last 10 games at this venue. New Zealand are 0-3 in their history.

Head to Head Record

The Eels are 4-1 against the Warriors in the last 5.

Best Bet

New Zealand Warriors -3.5 = $1.90

South Sydney Rabbitohs (7th) vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (15th)

The Rabbitohs bounced back from 2 straight defeats with an impressive 28-6 win over the Warriors in NZ. They will be missing the likes of Murray, Cook, Koloamatangi and Walker. However, they're still favoured in the odds, which says a lot about the Dogs form.

The Dogs were embarrassed against the Knights last week in the 66-0 result. They've now lost 4 on the trot and their ability to leak a lot of points is a huge concern. With finals out of the question, they're giving new recruit Toby Sexton a shot at the halfback position.

While Souths are undermanned, they still have a decent enough squad to beat the struggling Dogs. Canterbury also holds a poor 7-1 ATS record after scoring 0 pts.

Stadium Record

South Sydney are 5-5 in their last 10 games at this venue. Canterbury are 1-4 in their last 5 games at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Rabbitohs are 9-2 against the Bulldogs since 2018.

Best Bet

South Sydney Rabbitohs -5.5 = $1.95

Gold Coast Titans (10th) vs Dolphins (12th)

The Titans had their 2-game winning streak ended by the Raiders last week in the 26-22 defeat. Origin duty means that they'll be missing AJ Brimson, Fifita, Fotuaika and captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui. So their lesser likes will need to get the job done against the Dolphins.

The Dolphins are coming off 4 straight defeats but they did give the Broncos a fight last week in the 24-16 result. Generally, they've stepped in all QLD derbies so far and they should be fairly confident with the Titans missing a lot of experience. However, the Dolphins will miss Kaufusi and Tabuai-Fidow as well.

With the Titans missing key players to Origin duty, the Dolphins could pull off a QLD derby upset. They usually step up in these types of games and will be desperate to end a 4 game-losing streak.

Stadium Record

Gold Coast are 3-2 in their last 5 games at this venue. The Dolphins are yet to play on the Gold Coast.

Head to Head Record

The Dolphins won the first meeting 28-26 in Round 8.

Best Bet

Dolphins +2.5 = $1.85
