NFL Week 16 Predictions and Betting Preview

Los Angeles Chargers v Baltimore Ravens

The 11-3 Chargers return to action after last week's stunning win over the Chiefs. Down by plenty in the 4th quarter, Phillip Rivers and his team staged a massive comeback to win 29-28. They're playing without a number of injured stars at the moment, which makes them very scary in the AFC when the likes of Allen/Gordon return. The Ravens will likely be a tough challenge on Sunday. They've turned their season around and that's mainly because of new starting QB Lamar Jackson. Over their last 5 games, they're 4-1 and the Ravens running game is proving hard to stop, especially with the versatility of Jackson under centre. As a result, the Ravens now rank 2nd in the NFL for rushing yards per game. At home, the Chargers have had trouble stopping the run recently and that should see the Ravens keep this close or cause an upset. They've covered the line in 7 of their past 10 road games. They also hold a 6-3 head to head record with LA. Los Angeles is just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 at home and I think their injury list will start to cost them sooner rather than later.

Stadium Record

Los Angeles is 5-1 at home in their last 6 games. The Ravens are yet to play at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The two sides last met in 2015 and the Ravens sneaked out a 29-26 win in Baltimore. Since 2010, both sides have won 2 games against each other.

Best Bet

Ravens +5 $1.91

New Orleans Saints v Pittsburgh Steelers

New Orleans plays host to this intriguing matchup on Monday as the 12-2 Saints take on the 8-5-1 Steelers. The Saints are just one win away from securing home field advantage in the playoffs and they'll be keen to seal it with a home victory once again. They're coming off a short week after a grueling 12-9 win over the Panthers in Carolina. Their offence has been slower than usual over the last couple of games so the chances of this game turning into a defensive battle is high. Pittsburgh's defence came to play last week as they restricted the Patriots offence to just 10 points on their home turf. So although they have lost 2 straight road games, their last performance should give them confidence of stopping the Saints. Overall, the Saints last 5 games have all gone Unders and Pittsburgh is showing a 4-1 record against the under in their last 5. The Steelers also hold a 5-0 under record on the road. Both defences are top 6 for rushing yards allowed and that should see a fair reliance on the passing game. Where Drew Brees isn't at his 100% best at the moment and will take on a Steelers D that stopped Brady last week.

Stadium Record

New Orleans is 5-1 at home this season and they've won 5 straight games. Pittsburgh lost 20-10 at this venue in 2010.

Head to Head Record

In 2014, the Saints won a high scoring affair in Pittsburgh, 35-32. Since 2002, the Saints are 3-1 against the Steelers.

Best Bet

UNDER 54.5 points $1.85

Seattle Seahawks v Kansas City Chiefs

Monday's feature game will be played in Seattle as the Chiefs travel to face the Seahawks. Both sides are coming off close losses and they'll be desperate to build winning form before a playoff campaign. The 8-5 Chiefs suffered a 4th quarter collapse last week as the Chargers beat them by a point. They've been involved in a number of close games recently and this figures to be another. Seattle is coming off a 3 point loss against the 49ers but they're still in contention for the NFC playoffs at 8-5. In this matchup of two high scoring offences, the chances of the Overs getting up is looking high. In the Chiefs last 6 games, the Over has hit in 5 of 6 and it has also gone Over in 8 of their last 9 road games. Their last 2 road games include a 40-33 win over the Raiders and it's hard to forget the 54-51 scoreline against the Rams a few weeks ago. For Seattle, the Over is 4-1 when they face the Chiefs and it's also 5-1 in their last 6 overall games.

Stadium Record

Seattle has a 16-7 record at home and 4-2 this season. The Chiefs thrashed them at this venue in 2010 by 18 points (42-24).

Head to Head Record

Kansas City has a great record over the Seahawks as they've won 19 of the last 25 meetings. The last matchup was in 2014 and the Chiefs won again, 24-20.

Best Bet

OVER 52.5 points $1.85

Oakland Raiders v Denver Broncos

Week 16 of the NFL season will conclude with an AFC West rivalry matchup in Oakland. This could be the last NFL game played in Oakland for a long time as the Raiders are looking at moving to Las Vegas next season. So the Raiders could be an interesting bet in Week 16. But looking at last week's result, it's hard to trust them. They were comfortably beaten by the struggling Bengals on the road 30-16. It was a poor showing after they knocked off the Steelers in their previous game. The Broncos come into this clash after 2 straight defeats, which has ended their season at 6-8. Last week, they went down to the Browns at home by a point and previously lost to the 49ers by 6. So with both sides struggling for consistency, this game should be a low scoring affair between divisional rivals. The Broncos last 5 games have all gone Unders and they have scored under 20 points on offence in their last 2. Away from Denver, they hold a 4-1 record against the under and it's also 6-1 when they play the Raiders. The Raiders also struggle to score points and at home, 8 of their last 11 have gone Under the total. In all 4 meetings since 2017, the total hasn't gone over 40 points and that should mean the 46.5 point total mark is a safe bet.

Stadium Record

Oakland has a 2-5 home record this season and it's just 4-11 when they play Denver.

Head to Head Record

In the first meeting of the season, the Broncos won by a point at home. In the last 10 meetings, they hold a 7-3 advantage.
