NFL Week 14 Predictions and Betting Preview

Tennessee Titans v Jacksonville Jaguars

It's an AFC South battle to start Week 14 as the Titans host the Jaguars. Tennessee will be desperate for a win as they hold a 6-6 record and can still clinch an AFC wildcard spot. But their form at the moment is fairly concerning. They only just beat the Jets by 4 points at home last week and have previously lost 2 straight against divisional opponents. The Jaguars probably can't make the playoffs at 4-8 but they finally ended a 7 game losing streak with a stout defensive performance last week. Facing the red-hot Colts at home, the Jaguars D put up a shutout as the Jaguars won 6-0. As a result, the total for this game is set fairly low and I can see a bit more offence this time. The Jaguars defence isn't the same beast on the road as they've allowed 20+ points in 4 straight road games. At home, the Titans last 2 games have gone over 40 points as well. When these two sides meet in Tennessee, the over is 5-2. Generally the short week has proved a tough battle for defences and that should see both the Titans and Jaguars scoring more than usual.

Stadium Record

The Jaguars are 1-6 at this venue against the Titans. The Titans have won 5 of their last 6 at home.

Head to Head Record

The home side has won 3 in a row against the Jaguars, including a 9-6 victory in Week 3 this season.

Best Bet

OVER 36.5 points $1.76

Dallas Cowboys v Philadelphia Eagles

A crucial matchup in the NFC East will take place on Monday morning when the Cowboys host the Eagles. Dallas is leading the division with a 7-5 record but the Eagles are making a late surge to claim the title. Starting with the home side, they were impressive last week as they knocked off the Saints and Drew Brees with a huge defensive effort. They kept the number 1 scoring team in the NFL to just 10 points and that made it 4 straight victories. Their home form is very hard to bet against as they've now won 5 of the last 6. Philadelphia travels to Dallas on the back of two straight divisional wins against the Redskins and Giants. While they haven't been a great road team in 2018 (2-3), they enjoy playing in Dallas with a 4-1 record and they've covered the line in 5 of 7 meetings. So this should be another tight divisional clash and we can see the Eagles getting within the line of 4 points. Carson Wentz is starting to find some of his form pre-injury and he's building a nice connection with Golden Tate.

Stadium Record

Dallas has beaten the Saints and Redskins in two straight home games. The Eagles won both games in 2017 at this venue, 37-9 and 27-13.

Head to Head Record

In Week 10 this season, the Cowboys overcame the Eagles on the road in a 27-20 victory. Overall since 2015, both sides have won 3 games against each other.

Best Bet

Eagles +4 $1.85

Chicago Bears v Los Angeles Rams

In the late Monday game, the Bears host the Rams in a potential NFC playoff preview. Hopefully for the Bears, starting QB Mitchell Trubisky returns from injury because they will likely struggle without him. Last week with Chase Daniels under centre, the Giants got the better of the Bears on the road 30-27. The loss halted a 5 game winning streak as well. But they still comfortably lead the NFC North division at 8-4. For the Rams, they head to Chicago full of confidence after becoming the first team of this season to clinch their division. They currently hold an 11-1 record and a 3 game winning streak. They returned from the bye last week and comfortably beat the Lions 30-16 on the road. Behind Todd Gurley, they own the best rushing attack in the NFL and also rank 3rd for points scored. But interestingly, the Bears are the best team at stopping the run in 2018 as they allow just 66.17 rushing yards per game. So Rams QB Jared Goff will likely need to find the likes of Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods in the passing game. In the end, with the unknown status of Mitchell Trubisky, it's hard to see the Bears scoring enough points to keep up with the Rams. However, the Bears D is capable of stopping the run and that should help this game turn into a fairly low scoring affair. The Under total is 4-2 during the Rams last 6 road games and they only hold a 1-5 record against the Bears.

Stadium Record

Chicago has won 6 of their last 7 at home and they've covered the line in all 6 victories.

Head to Head Record

These two sides last met in 2015 and the Bears won 37-13. Overall in the last 6 meetings, the Bears are 5-1.

Best Bet

UNDER 54.5 points $1.73

Seattle Seahawks v Minnesota Vikings

Tuesday's feature game is a huge clash between the Seahawks and the Vikings in Seattle. Both sides are well in contention for the NFC Wildcard spot and the winner of this game will likely qualify. As of last week, the Seahawks cannot win the NFC West so they need to keep winning games in search of a playoff spot. They absolutely dominated the 49ers at home in Week 13, crushing them 43-16. They've now won 3 games on the trot and start as the favourite at home over the Vikings. Minnesota is showing inconsistent form at the moment with a 2-3 record in their last 5 games. They couldn't get their offence going last week in New England, going down 24-10. So another road game in Seattle is going to be a tough proposition. Seattle has a 15-7 record in their last 22 home games and they've also beaten the Vikings in 4 of the last 5 meetings. Which is also 4-1 at this venue. At this stage, Seattle is looking really dangerous offensively and I can't see the Vikings overcoming them on the road. The Seahawks are the best rushing team in the NFL and Russell Wilson is playing mistake free football. He's thrown 11 touchdown passes in his last 4 games and hasn't turned the ball over. He also enjoys playing the Vikings with a 3-0 record and 8 touchdown passes/0 interceptions. So I think Seattle will roll onto another victory by over 2.5 points. They're 7-3-2 against the spread this year and have covered the line in 4 of the last 5 meetings against Minnesota.

Stadium Record

The Seahawks thrashed the 49ers at home last week and have won 2 straight in Seattle. Minnesota has lost 2 in a row at this venue since 2012.

Head to Head Record

The two sides last played against each other in the 2015/2016 playoffs and Seattle won by a point (10-9). Overall since 2009, Seattle leads 4-1.

Best Bet

Seahawks -2.5 $1.71
