NFL Week 12 Betting Preview & Predictions

2023 NFL Week 12 Betting Predictions

Week 12 of the NFL season begins in Seattle with a massive NFC West matchup between the Seahawks and 49ers.

San Francisco 49ers (7-3) at Seattle Seahawks (6-4)

The 49ers come off a second straight comfortable win as they beat the Bucs 27-14. Brock Purdy tossed 3 touchdown passes and Brandon Aiyuk dominated with 156 yards / 1 TD. But a season-ending injury to Talanoa Hufanga soured the victory and he'll be hard to replace on defence. In the month of November, the 49ers are 8-0 and also 9-0 when they play against NFC West opponents. However, they don't have a great record in Seattle, winning just 2 of their last 12 games.

The Seahawks had a tough loss last week after leading 13-0 against the Rams, losing 17-16 in the end. Injuries have also hit their offence with Kenneth Walker likely out of this one and starting QB Geno Smith has an elbow injury that he could play through. At home, the Seahawks are riding a 4 game winning streak and haven't lost back-to-back games all season. So while they're massive underdogs in the markets, this is a huge clash in terms of their NFC West title hopes.

The trend in primetime has been the Under so I like it here as well. Overall, the Under is 5-2 in the Seahawks last 7 and 5-1 when they meet a divisional opponent. San Fran are also 4-1 against the Under in November.

Stadium Record

Seattle has won 6 of their last 7 at home. San Francisco are just 2-10 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

It's tied 5-5 in the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

Under 43.5 = $1.83

Baltimore Ravens (8-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-6)

The Ravens bounced back last Friday with a 34-20 victory over the Bengals and now have the #1 seed in the AFC. They also lead the AFC North and have scored 30 or more points in 5 straight games. But an injury to TE Mark Andrews is a tough blow for their offence. QB Lamar Jackson also picked up an ankle injury but he should be able to play. While the Ravens have the best running attack in the NFL, they should be able to attack the Chargers defence in the air. They rank dead last in the NFL for passing yards allowed and Zay Flowers should be a key target for Jackson. He leads the team with 588 receiving yards. While on defence, the Ravens are the best team in the league for sacks and have only allowed 16.1 points per game. So that should make things tough for Herbert.

The Chargers are feeling the pressure after a 2-game losing streak and they sit last in the AFC West division. They've lost 5 of 6 games by under 4 pts and that continued last week as they lost against the Packers 23-20. But the positive is that the Herbert and Allen combination has remained strong and they'll need every bit of that against a tough Ravens defence. While on defence, an injury to Joey Bosa is a tough blow for a defence that's giving up 23.8 points per game.

Baltimore are the favourite coming into this matchup and it's hard to back against them. They're 9-4 ATS and have won 4 of their last 5 road games. Meanwhile, the Chargers are just 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games played in November.

Stadium Record

Los Angeles are 2-3 at home this season. Baltimore are yet to play against the Chargers in LA.

Head to Head Record

Since 2006, the Ravens are 6-4 in this matchup.

Best Bet

Chicago Bears (3-8) at Minnesota Vikings (6-5)

The Bears are coming off another disappointing defeat in Week 11, which kind of sums up their season. They led 26-14 against the Lions but conceded the last 17 pts in the 31-26 result. At least starting QB Justin Fields returned to the field and finished with over 100 rushing yards along with a touchdown pass. But they need more from their defence that's allowing 26 points per game, ranking them 29th in the league. Defending the pass has been a real issue as they're allowing 245 passing yards per game.

The Vikings had their 5-game winning streak ended by the Broncos in a heartbreaking 1-point loss last week. It's a blow for their chances of winning the division but they're still the #7 seed in the NFC playoff race. This week they take on a struggling Bears unit that has struggled with giving up pts. So while Jefferson probably won't play again, the likes of Hockenson and Addison should be key targets for Joshua Dobbs. They also ran the ball with success last week, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. On defence, the key will be containing the dynamic Fields in both facets.

There's a lot to play for in terms of playoffs for the Vikes so I can see them getting it done at home. They're also 6-0 ATS and 7-2 against their division. The Bears are just 1-9 on the road and 1-4 ATS when they face Minnesota.

Stadium Record

Minnesota holds a 2-3 record in their last 5 home games. Chicago are 3-2 in their last 5.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10, the Vikings are 6-4.

Best Bet

Minnesota Vikings -2.5 = $1.72
