NFL Tips & Betting Preview Week 2 21/22 | BlueBet

New York Giants (0-1) at Washington Football Team (0-1)

After a 27-13 opening Week loss to the Broncos, the Giants are now 1-4 in their last 5 games. But they should feel this is a winnable game against Washington. Last week, Washington gave up the 3rd worst passing yards and this should see Daniel Jones attack this defence in the air. Especially with Saquon Barkley returning from a knee injury, their running game just isn't dominant at the moment.

Washington have already lost starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to injury for around 6 weeks so Taylor Heinicke will get the start in Week 2. He almost engineered a comeback for his team last week against the Chargers, but in a sloppy performance, they went down 20-16.

Both these teams are very similar and as a result, we're expecting a close divisional contest on Friday. The Giants do have a nice record against Washington recently and with both sides struggling to score points, New York looks to be the best bet at the underdog line.

Stadium Record

Washington went down to the Chargers at home in Week 1 and have lost 5 of their last 6 home games. The Giants are 4-1 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Giants have won the last 5 meetings.

Best Bet

Giants +3.5 = $1.85

Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) at Baltimore Ravens (0-1)

Once again, Patrick Mahomes orchestrated a brilliant second half comeback as the Chiefs overcame the Browns 33-29 in Week 1. Mahomes tossed 3 touchdown passes in the second half - 2 to Kelce and 1 to Hill. But defensively, the Chiefs will need to improve in all aspects. Overall, they gave up the 2nd most yards in Week 1 and struggled to contain both the pass and run. The run defence is particularly concerning as they meet the run heavy Ravens offence.

Baltimore will be disappointed with a Week 1 OT defeat to the Raiders where their normally consistent defence was overmatched. Their pass defence got burned by Derek Carr for 409 passing yards and they ranked dead last in the NFL for yards allowed. However, their offence continued to move the chains on the ground and that'll be a factor against the Chiefs mediocre run defence.

Recently when the Chiefs and Ravens meet, we're in for high scoring affair and that should be no different in Week 2. Both teams ranked at the very bottom of the NFL for yards allowed last week and that leans us to the Over in a matchup between Mahomes and Jackson. The Over has hit in 5 of the last 7 meetings at this venue as well and they met last season in September where the Chiefs won 34-20 at this venue.

Stadium Record

The Ravens are 11-4 in their last 15 home games. Kansas City has won 5 of their last 6 games in Baltimore.

Head to Head Record

The Chiefs have owned this matchup with 5 wins in the last 6 meetings.

Best Bet

Over 53.5 points = $1.76

Detroit Lions (0-1) at Green Bay Packers (0-1)

The Dan Campbell and Jared Goff era began with a 41-33 defeat against the 49ers which almost turned into one of the greatest comebacks. Down 41-17 with 2 minutes remaining, the Lions scored 16 straight points to narrow the margin but couldn't get an onside kick to go their way in the last minute. However, the offence should take a lot of confidence into this matchup. Especially with the Packers run defence issues still lingering and the Lions did find success running the ball against the 49ers.

The Packers had a rough offseason that was full of distractions and that definitely showed in a woeful Week 1 performance. Against a Saints team without Drew Brees, the Packers simply didn't show up in a 38-3 defeat. Aaron Rodgers tossed 2 interceptions and the Packers offence failed to find the endzone. Meanwhile, their defence got torched by Winston for 5 touchdown passes and they allowed the 3rd most rushing yards. It's hard to see the Packers playing much worse so they'll be eager to get back on track against a divisional rival that they have simply dominated.

The Packers defence allowed 38 points in Week 1 and the Lions gave up 41 points. So we'll be backing the Over as both sides try to figure out their defensive issues. While the Packers were awful in Week 1, they should be better on home turf and they love playing the Lions (22-3 SU in last 25 in GB). Detroit also found their groove with Jared Goff in last week's second half and that should help them against Green Bay.

Stadium Record

The Packers are 14-2 at Lambeau Field. Detroit have a terrible 3-22 record at this venue in their last 25 games.

Head to Head Record

Green Bay has won 4 of the last 5 meetings and swept last season's series.

Best Bet

Over 48.5 points = $1.89
