Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers
Sunday's NFL action is highlighted by a huge NFC West clash between the 49ers and Rams in San Francisco. The 49ers come off a surprising loss to the Falcons on basically the last play of the game as they went down 29-22. Which surrendered their lead atop the division to the Seahawks. They'll be desperate to avoid a wildcard playoff game so that set ups a huge Week 17 matchup against the Seahawks. But firstly, they need to beat the LA Rams. Which should start with their defence getting pressure on Jared Goff so his timing is out with the likes of Woods, Kupp, Higbee and Cooks. Meanwhile, the Rams were awfully bad against the Cowboys last week in a 44-21 defeat. So unless the Vikings lose their last 2 games, it looks like the NFC Champions of last season won't even reach the playoffs. To make matters worse, Goff has a thumb injury and he'll face a fired up 49ers defence that collapsed against Atlanta. So in that case, it's going to be a tough to score points and hopefully the Rams defence can show up this week. So we don't mind the Under, which is 7-2 in the Rams last 9 games and 4-0 when they're coming off a loss. Under is also 13-5 in the 49ers last 18 home games versus a team with a winning road record.
Stadium Record
San Francisco has won 5 of their last 7 games at this venue. Los Angeles has a 2-2 record in the last 4 games but they have won the last 2 outings.
Head to Head Record
Since 2014, both sides have won 5 games agianst each other in this divisional rivalry.
Best Bet
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
The NFC East is on the line in this clash at Lincoln Financial Field when the 7-7 Eagles meet the 7-7 Cowboys. For the Eagles, they rallied to beat the Redskins in the dying stages of last week's 37-27 victory. Wentz tossed 3 TD passes and journeyman receiver Greg Ward was the hero with the game winning TD catch. The Eagles have won back to back games over the Giants and Redskins but you wouldn't say it's been overly convincing. Meanwhile, the Cowboys returned to form in a huge way as they smashed the Rams 44-21. They ran all over the Rams defence with Elliott and Pollard both recording over 100 rushing yards and a total of 3 rushing TDs. Dallas has a great record over Philadelphia and we don't expect that too change. They're 6-1 ATS at this venue against the Eagles and 4-0 ATS in all of the last 4 meetings. The Eagles have a lot of injuries at the moment so it's hard to see them competing with the now fired up Cowboys.
Stadium Record
The Eagles are 4-3 at home this season. The Cowboys hold a 6-1 record at this venue.
Head to Head Record
Dallas has won the last 4 meetings since 2017.
Best Bet
Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears
It's season over for the 7-7 Bears so they'll look to hurt the Chiefs and Vikings playoff hopes in the next 2 weeks. It was another disappointing loss in Green Bay last week as the Bears went down 21-13. Much like most of the season, the offence just couldn't get going all game. Trubisky threw 2 picks and threw the ball 53 times for just 29 completions. They also couldn't get much of a running game despite the Packers struggle with the run. So the red-hot Chiefs are going to be a challenge. They've won their last 4 games and thrashed the Broncos 23-3 in the snow last week. Mahomes is dealing with a hand injury but he still managed 340 passing yards last week. They have plenty of weapons across the park with Hill coming off 2 TD catches and Kelce with 11 receptions against Denver. Historically, the Under has saluted in all of the last 5 meetings between these two sides and we like it here. The Bears struggle to score points and the Chiefs defence has been much improved lately. The Chiefs have also gone Unders in 4 of their last 5.
Stadium Record
Chicago holds a 4-3 record in home games this season. Kansas City last played in Chicago in 2011 and came away with a 10-3 victory.
Head to Head Record
Since 1996, both sides have won 3 games apiece. The last meeting was back in 2015 with the Bears winning 18-17.
Best Bet
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
This matchup features a massive NFC North meeting between the 10-4 Vikings and 11-3 Packers in Minnesota. The Vikings can seal up a playoff spot with a win and they can still finish first in the NFC North. They've crushed the Lions (20-7) and Chargers (39-10) in back to back weeks, so they should be confident. But they will await a shoulder injury to star RB Dalvin Cook. So that will place extra pressure on Kirk Cousins to beat the Packers through the air if Cook can't play. Meanwhile, the Packers are playoff bound after 3 straight wins and can win the division by beating the Vikings. They're currently underdogs but the injury to Cook will be a huge factor. The Packers usually struggle to stop running backs but it will be a lot easier without Cook on the field. In a high stakes divisional matchup, we do like the chances of a low scoring/grinding affair. Which is supported in the trends as the Under has hit in all of the last 5 meetings at this venue. While in the last 10 meetings, it's 8-2. Under also has a 7-0 record in NFC North games with the Packers involved and the Vikings are 8-1 against it when they host a team with a winning road record.
Stadium Record
The Vikings have not lost in their 6 home games this season and they've beaten the Packers in the last 3 meetings here.
Head to Head Record
Green Bay won the earlier meeting this season 21-16 and they have a 12-6-2 record in the last 20 meetings.
