2022 NFL Week 12 Betting Predictions
Week 12 of the NFL season starts with a 3 game triple-header for Thanksgiving and that's headlined by the 6-4 Patriots visiting the 8-4 Vikings.
New England Patriots (6-4) at Minnesota Vikings (8-2)
The Patriots come off an ugly 10-3 win over the Jets at home last week as a punt return TD in the dying seconds sealed the victory. But the Pats have won 3 on the trot and continue to dominate defensively. They've given up just 6 total points in back-to-back wins. Matthew Judon has been a beast all season with 13 sacks and New England are the 2nd best team in the NFL in terms of points allowed. Meanwhile, their offence is struggling to generate points and they're one of the weaker passing teams in the NFL behind Mac Jones. However, they do have a favourable matchup against a struggling Vikings defence that got torched last week. So the Pats will look to take advantage, mainly through Rhamondre Stevenson and Meyers.
The Vikings 7 game winning streak is over after the Cowboys embarrassed them in the 40-3 result. Minnesota's defence had no answers for the Cowboys offence so they'll look to respond in a better matchup against the struggling Pats offence. However, Kirk Cousins and his weapons will face another tough challenge. Kirk was sacked 7 times and didn't find any combination with his receivers against the Cowboys. The Pats defence can apply similar pressure so the Vikings will need to show quick improvement on a short week.
Low scoring games is definitely the trend with the Patriots at the moment and we like it on a short week. The Under is 4-2 in their last 6 games and 12-6 when they hit the road. The Vikings are coming off scoring just 3 points as well and will likely struggle to dominate this Pats defence.
Stadium Record
Minnesota has won 5 of their last 6 at home. New England lost the Super Bowl in 2018 at this venue.
Head to Head Record
The Patriots are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and beat the VIkings 24-10 in their most recent matchup in 2018.
Best Bet
Green Bay Packers (4-7) at Philadelphia Eagles (9-1)
The Packers are just 1-6 in their last 7 games and will be desperate to keep their slim playoff hopes alive in Philadelphia. Green Bay come off a 27-17 loss against the Titans at home as they struggled on both sides of the ball. But one positive at the moment is the Aaron Rodgers to Christian Watson combination. They've combined for 4 passing touchdowns in the last 2 weeks and Watson is now a great target in the anytime touchdown market. Defensively, the Packers struggle against the run and this is not a good matchup for them against the likes of Hurts.
After starting the season 8-0, the Eagles have hit a bit of a rough patch in their last 2 games. Their undefeated streak ended in a 32-21 loss against the Commanders and last week, they just beat the struggling Colts 17-16. However, this does look like a nice matchup for the Eagles to get back on track. Firstly, Jalen Hurts should be able to dominate this Packers defence and he found his legs last week with 16 carries. He's a great target in the rushing markets due to the matchup. Meanwhile, the Eagles defence should be able to shut down Aaron Rodgers. Philly are the 2nd best team in the NFL for passing yards allowed and only give up 18 points per game.
The Packers are far too inconsistent at the moment and the Eagles should win this comfortably. They're 4-1 ATS at home and 7-3 against the Pack at home. Green Bay are just 1-5 on the road and their offence will likely struggle to score enough points.
Stadium Record
Philadelphia are 4-1 in their last 5 at home. Green Bay has lost 7 of their last 10 in Philly.
Head to Head Record
The Packers won the last meeting 30-16 in 2020 and hold a 6-4 record since 2005.
Best Bet
Philadelphia Eagles -6.5 = $1.87
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-7) at Indianapolis Colts (4-6-1)
The Steelers are coming off a 37-30 defeat against the Bengals but they showed some promising signs. Najee Harris found the endzone twice and rushed for 90 yards. George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth both enjoyed nice days in the passing game. However, they would be disappointed in giving up 37 pts and that's despite grabbing 2 interceptions. But their run defence continued to be solid and they'll need a similar result against the Colts running game through Taylor.
The Colts let a 13-3 lead slip away against the Eagles last week and their playoff hopes aren't looking great at the moment. So this is a must-win game to give them any shot. Overall, their offence has struggled to generate to points as they're ranked 31st in the NFL with just 15.7 points per game. But they should be able to move the ball in the air against the Steelers defence that allowed 4 passing touchdowns last week. It's also good to see RB Jonathan Taylor get in some form against the Eagles with 84 rushing yards after an injury-interrupted season.
Both sides can struggle to generate scoring opportunities and this could be another ugly primetime game. The Under has saluted in 6 of the last 7 games at this venue and overall, the Colts are 14-2 against the Under. The Steelers are also 4-2 against the Under and 6-1 when they play at this venue.
Stadium Record
Indianapolis are just 2-4 in their last 6 at home. Pittsburgh are 5-1 at this venue.
Head to Head Record
The Steelers have owned this matchup with 8 wins in the last 10 since 2005.
