Off the back of some huge NBA Cup games, we get a six-game slate on Sunday including the Celtics and the Rockets, plus Detroit hosting Cooper Flagg’s Mavericks.
Dallas Mavericks @ Detroit Pistons
Déjà vu for the Mavericks who have gone from a front court of monsters, to an undersized line-up due to injuries to AD, Gafford and Lively.
As for the Pistons, they haven’t set the world on fire to start the season but they do sit 3-2 and should really move that record to 4-2 when they host a depleted Mavericks outfit.
Leg 1: Jalen Duran 25+ PR
Just needs to not foul to cover this line. Three of Duren’s five games this season have involved either foul trouble or an ejection, and he’s still averaging 14.8 points and 10 rebounds this season.
Duren’s per 36 minute numbers are wild going at 23.5 points and 15.9 rebounds - and although there’s no chance the big man plays 36 minutes, if he can be around the 30-minute mark that’s enough to cover against a depleted Dallas front court.
Leg 2: Ausar Thompson Over 2.5 Assists
The athletic wing is averaging four assists per game from five games to start the season, and has covered this line in four of his five games.
Ausar Thompson has hit 4+ assists in three of the games, and his miss was against the Cavaliers where he was in foul trouble, in a blowout, and played just 15 minutes.
Like the line here and the 4+ paying $2.70.
Leg 3: PJ Washington 6+ Rebounds
Someone has to rebound for the Mavericks. AD out, Lively out, Gafford questionable but I don’t see them rushing the big man back for this contest - so all of a sudden Dallas goes from one of the biggest front courts to the smallest.
Washington posted big rebound numbers last year when their big man stocks was limited, and this season he’s hit 6+ rebounds in his last four games including 11 rebounds last start when AD got injured and played 6 minutes.
Same Game Multi
Duren 25+ PR / Ausar Thompson Over 2.5 Assists / Washington 6+ Rebounds = $4.00
Value Leg: PJ Washington Double-Double
Washington is averaging 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season, and was just one-point shy of a double double last start in just 28 minutes.
Will get plenty of opportunities in Dallas’ depleted front court, and has the potential to produce big stat lines.
Duren 25+ PR / Ausar Thompson Over 2.5 Assists / Washington Double Double = $7.00
