Another 12-game slate on Saturday as the NBA season starts to heat up - with plenty of upsets already, can the Miami Heat cause another on the road in Memphis?
Miami Heat @ Memphis Grizzlies
Although the Grizzlies started the season with a win and it was an L for the Heat, I was more impressed with the performance Miami produced against the Orlando Magic.
I think they have the defensive tools to limit Ja Morant’s impact, which will go a long way to them causing an upset on the road in this.
Leg 1: Heat +3.5
Although they didn’t get the win, I was really impressed with Miami’s performance considering where they were projected to finish this season, leading the highly-touted Magic for the majority of the game.
Understand this is in Memphis, but I wasn’t all that convinced with their opening game effort defeating the Pelicans by six points at home in a shootout. No chance Spoelsta allows that to happen this time around, with Davion Mitchell likely to be unleashed on Ja Morant.
Leg 2: Davion Mitchell 10+ Pts
A Spoelstra favourite since the Heat acquired Davion Mitchell from the Raptors, and with Tyler Herro injured I think the Point Guard will play bulk minutes for Miami.
Davion Mitchell averages 12.7 points from his last 23 games with the Heat including the play-in and playoffs last season, hitting 10+ points in 19 of those games. Coming off 16 points from 15 attempts in the opener against the Magic, Mitchell hits 10+ here.
Leg 3: Jaylen Wells 10+ Pts
14 points from Jaylen Wells in the season opener against the Pelicans, and with Desmond Bane now at Orlando I expect Wells to fill that void.
Although his shot volume was low with just eight attempts, Wells still knocked down four triples and should be playing around 30 minutes in an important role for Memphis.
Same Game Multi
Heat +3.5 / Mitchell 10+ Points / Wells 10+ Points = $4.10
Value Leg: Bam Adebayo
Averages 10.9 rebounds from his last ten games including last post-season, Bam started 2025-26 strong on the glass with 12 rebounds against the Magic.
The lack of Zach Edey provides Adebayo a huge opportunity, with Jock Landale getting the start in Memphis’ opener - the Australian only managing four rebounds and the Grizzlies only pulling in a total of 39 for the game.
Bam has hit 12+ in six of his last ten games - think he’s a great chance at a nice price to do so again.
Heat +3.5 / Mitchell 10+ Points / Wells 10+ Points / Adebayo 12+ Rebounds = $8.00
