NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Tuesday 7 March

Boston Celtics (45-20) at Cleveland Cavaliers (40-26)

The Celtics will head to Cleveland on a back-to-back after 2 disappointing losses on their home court. On Saturday, they collapsed after holding a massive lead against the Nets in the 115-105 result. Then on Monday, the Knicks beat them in double OT - 131-129. However, Tatum was impressive for the home side as he finished with 40 pts and he also put up 41 pts against the Cavs in the recent matchup. In lineup news, they're missing Brogdon and Williams. So their front-court depth will get more playing time with Williams out.

The Cavs thrashed the Pistons by 24 pts in their latest win on Sunday and they'll be looking to revenge against the C's at home. They lost against the Celtics in Boston last week by 4 pts. With an 8-2 home record, the Cavs will be confident they can get the victory on Tuesday. The key will be Donovan Mitchell and he comes off scoring 44 pts in the most recent meeting against Boston. He is questionable for this game due to a finger injury so that will be something to monitor before tip-off.

While Boston don't have a great record in Cleveland, the trend between these two sides this season has been close contests. The last meeting in Cleveland was a 1 pt game to the Cavs and this should be a similar type of result. The Celtics are also 9-4 on the road.

Stadium Record

Cleveland holds a 4-1 record in their last 5 home games. Boston holds a poor 1-4 record in Cleveland over their last 5 games.

Head to Head Record

These two sides are 5-5 against each other since 2020.

Best Bet

Boston Celtics +4.5 = $1.87

Atlanta Hawks (32-32) at Miami Heat (34-31)

The Hawks will be looking to bounce back against the Heat after losing to them on Sunday 117-109. The key will be getting Trae Young and DeJounte Murray into some shooting form. The Hawks duo struggled on Sunday as they combined for just 18 pts. Saddiq Bey stepped up with 22 pts but they will need more output from the starting lineup. However, winning on the road has been difficult for the Hawks as they're riding a 4 game-losing streak.

The Heat got back on track against the Hawks on Sunday after losing their first two games on this home stand. Bam Adebayo enjoyed the matchup against the Hawks leaky defence as he finished with 30 pts and 11 boards. They've now won 7 of their last 10 at home and will be favoured to make it 8-2 when they host the Hawks again. In lineup news, Kevin Love is questionable with a rib injury but he has been playing through it.

Miami seem to match up well with the Hawks as they're 5-1 ATS in the last 6 at this venue. The Heat also hold a 9-3 record in their last 10 at home and should get the job done on Tuesday.

Stadium Record

Miami are 7-3 in their last 10 at home. Atlanta has lost their last 5 in Miami.

Head to Head Record

The Heat have the wood over the Hawks with 7 wins in the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

Miami Heat -3.0 = $1.91

New Orleans Pelicans (31-33) at Sacramento Kings (37-26)

The Pelicans should be desperate for a win on Tuesday after losing 4 of their last 5. They come off another disappointing loss against the Warriors on Saturday as they let a 17 pt lead slip away in the 108-99 result. However, CJ McCollum continues to be consistent in this offence without Zion as he's scored 24.5 pts in his last 2 games. Ingram scored 40 pts recently against the Trail Blazers and this should be a favourable matchup against a leaky Kings defence. In terms of injuries, Zion, Richardson and Nance are out. Valanciunas is questionable and if he can't play, Hernangomez will likely get the start at C.

The Kings had their winning streak snapped by the T-Wolves on Sunday but they're still sitting nicely with a 37-26 record. They continue to be involved in high-scoring games as they love to play at a fast pace. In this matchup with the Pels, they will be looking to avenge the 136-104 result in early February. Their offence is in much better form at the moment so they should be confident, especially on home court. In lineup news, DeAaron Fox is questionable with a hamstring so if he can't play, the likes of Monk, Huerter and Mitchell will get more opportunities.

Games are involving the Kings are usually entertaining and high scoring so we like the Over here. The Over is 5-1 in their last 6 and also 6-2 when they host the Pels.

Stadium Record

Sacramento are 6-4 in their last 10 at home. New Orleans holds a 2-2 record in their last 4 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

Since 2020, both sides have won 5 games against each other.

Best Bet

Over 238.5 = $1.91
