NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Tuesday 28 February

Miami Heat (32-29) at Philadelphia 76ers (39-20)

The Heat have lost 4 on the trot and will be desperate to break the streak against the 76ers. They're coming off losses against the Nuggets, Nets, Bucks by 29 and the Hornets. In their latest loss against the Hornets, turnovers were the killer as they committed 18. However, Tyler Herro is coming off 33 pts and Kevin Love has slotted in nicely after getting a buyout from the Cavs. So there are some positives. They also play the 76ers on a back-to-back and get to face them after their loss against Boston.

The 76ers had their winning streak ended by Tatum and the Celtics on Sunday. They struggled in the second half as the Celtics mounted a comeback and the 76ers let a 15 pt lead slip away. However, Joel Embiid was impressive for the home side as he finished with 41 pts and 12 boards. That form will likely continue against the reeling Heat defence. They'll also be confident on home court having won 7 of their last 10 and 4 of 5.

Philly should've beaten the Celtics on Sunday so they'll likely be fired up for this matchup. They love playing the Heat at home with 13 wins in the last 17 and they're also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 on home court. Miami are struggling away from home as well with a 1-5 ATS record in their last 6.

Stadium Record

Philadelphia are 7-3 in their last 10 at home. Miami has lost 13 of their last 17 in Philadelphia.

Head to Head Record

The Heat have won 6 of the last 10 since 2021.

Best Bet

Philadelphia 76ers -5.5 = $1.85

Boston Celtics (44-17) at New York Knicks (35-27)

The Celtics are back on the road after a thrilling win over the 76ers on Sunday. Despite a poor shooting game for Tatum, he nailed a three in the last seconds to get his team over the line. Jaylen Brown continued his good shooting form with 26 pts. However, he'll miss this clash due to personal reasons. That will open up playing time for White and Brogdon. They have won their last 2 road games on the trot and hold a 7-3 record in their last 10 away from Boston.

The Knicks are playing entertaining Basketball at the moment after 5 straight wins and they now sit in the top 6 in the East. They thrashed the Pelicans on Sunday by 22 and shot over 50% from the field as a team. Julius Randle led the charge with 28 pts as he backed up his 46-pt performance previously against the Wizards. They're also looking for a 5th straight win on their home court and will take confidence into this matchup after beating the Celtics in Boston last month.

High-scoring contests have been the trend between these two sides lately and we like it here as well. The Over has saluted in 4 of the last 5 meetings at this venue. The Knicks are also 4-1 against the OVer at home. Boston is 5-1 against the Over in their last 6.

Stadium Record

New York hold a 4-1 record in their last 5 home games. Boston has won 9 of their last 13 at MSG.

Head to Head Record

The head-to-head is square at 5-5 since 2019.

Best Bet

Over 222.5 = $1.87

Orlando Magic (25-36) at New Orleans Pelicans (30-31)

The Magic will be looking to bounce back after a 13 pt loss against the Pacers on Sunday. They didn't shoot the ball well as they finished under 40% from the field and just 20% from three-point range. However, they should feel this is a winnable game. Especially after beating the Pels in January by 13 pts. They'll likely go with the same starting 5 as they're just missing Isaac because of a hamstring injury.

The Pelicans fortunes haven't changed after the All-Star break as they've lost back-to-back games against the Knicks/Raptors. They're now below .500 and sit 10th in the West. Their offence simply had a shocker against the Knicks on Sunday as they shot 39% from the field and 21% from beyond the arc. So they'll need improvement in that area against the Magic on Tuesday. In injury news, they're still without Zion but the likes of McCollum and Ingram will be on the court.

With the Pelicans struggling for consistency, the Magic look decent value as a road underdog. They like playing at this venue considering they've won 5 in a row and they're also 8-3 ATS on the road.

Stadium Record

New Orleans are 4-6 in their last 10 at home. Orlando holds a 5-0 record at this venue over the last 5 games.

Head to Head Record

The Magic have a good record against the Pels with 7 wins in the last 10 meetings since 2017.

Best Bet

Orlando Magic +4.5 = $1.89
