Atlanta Hawks (11-15) at New York Knicks (13-15)
It's a huge game for the Hawks on Tuesday as they look to find some form. They've lost 6 of their last 7 games and as a result, their playoff hopes are quickly slipping away. The key will likely be Trae Young on Tuesday as the Knicks do struggle to contain point guards. However, they're defensively strong elsewhere and that'll make it tough for a struggling team.
Don't look now but the New York Knicks are playing for a playoff spot after year's of disappointment. The Knicks come off two easy wins over the Rockets and Wizards. They've also overcome the injury to Mitchell Robinson and Derrick Rose has already looked settled with his new team-mates.
The major factor in this matchup should be defence, where the Knicks are clearly the better team as they allow just 103 pts per game compared to the Hawks 112. The Knicks also have a good recent record against Atlanta and look good value as home underdogs here.
Stadium Record
The Knicks have won 4 of their last 6 home games. The Hawks are 2-3 at this venue since 2017.
Head to Head Record
New York won the earlier season meeting in Atlanta 113-108 and have a 7-3 record in the last 10.
Best Bet
Philadelphia 76ers (18-9) at Utah Jazz (22-5)
The 76ers will look to end a 2 game losing streak on Tueday but it won't be easy against the Jazz in Utah. Philadelphia will be coming off back to back defeats against the Suns and Trail Blazers. They also have injury problems with Embiid questionable with a back injury and Shake Milton is out. So they'll need the likes of Ben Simmons and Tobais Harris to put up huge numbers if Embiid is out.
Meanwhile, the Jazz are simply on fire at the moment after 7 straight wins and a 12-0 record at home. They've also thrashed the Heat, Bucks and Celtics during this home stand. Donovan Mitchell has been leading the way offensively with Mike Conley injured. While on the defensive side, Rudy Gobert will make things tough for the 76ers offence. He'll also enjoy facing the 76ers if Embiid can't suit up.
At this stage, betting against the Jazz on their home court is not something we're prepared to suggest at the moment. The 76ers have also struggled on this road-trip and the Embiid injury is concerning. So look for the Jazz to keep their home winning streak alive on Tuesday.
Stadium Record
The Jazz have won 12 straight home games. The 76ers are 2-2 at this venue since 2016.
Head to Head Record
The two sides last met in 2019 and the 76ers won at home, 103-94. Since 2015, the head to head is tied at 5-5.
Best Bet
Brooklyn Nets (16-12) at Sacramento Kings (12-14)
The Nets will look for their 3rd straight win as they head to Sacramento on Tuesday. Last time out, Kevin Durant and his Nets dominated the Warriors 134-117. However, Durant picked up a hamstring injury and will miss at least the next 2 games. So it will be the Irving and Harden show in this matchup. Harden is playing more of a point guard role at the moment so his assist line is always in play. The Kings also have problems defending centres so Jordan and the Nets front court should enjoy a favourable matchup.
For the Kings, their home-stand hasn't started well with 3 straight comfortable losses against the Grizzlies, Magic and 76ers. So it likely won't get easier against the in-form Nets. Key point guard De'Aaron Fox is dealing with injury at the moment but the positive out of their loss to the Grizzlies was he did play 30 minutes. The Nets don't have a great defence against forwards so that's something for Sacramento to gameplan against.
Despite the injury to Durant, the Harden and Irving show must go on and it's hard to see them dropping this game. The Kings are woefully out of form and likely won't be able to stop the Nets points scoring weapons.
Stadium Record
The Kings hold a 7-9 home record this season. Brooklyn is 2-2 at this venue since 2015.
Head to Head Record
The Nets have won the last 4 meetings and beat the Kings 119-106 last August.
