NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Thursday 08 June

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns

After a competitive first half in Game 1, the Nuggets fell apart in the second half as they went down 122-105. At half-time they led 58-57 but allowed 65 pts in the second as their defence couldn't stop the Suns main focal points. So that'll be an area of improvement for the Nuggets in Game 2. However, to make matters worse Michael Porter Jr. has a back injury and is questionable for Thursday's game.

The Suns kicked off the series in excellent fashion with a 17 point win. It was an impressive team performance as all 5 starters played well. Booker was a bit quieter on the shooting end but finished with 8 assists as he played more of a distributor role. Meanwhile, Chris Paul also scored 21 points and had 11 assists in another excellent display by the veteran. As a team, they shot 54% from the field and gave the Nuggets defence plenty of trouble in the second half. So expect the Suns to stick with the same gameplan in Game 2 until the Nuggets find a defensive solution.

High scoring has been the trend between the two teams and therefore, we'll be backing the Over in Game 2. Overall, the Over has saluted in the last 5 meetings at this venue and it's also 12-5 in the Suns last 17 games.

Stadium Record

The Suns hold a 17-2 record in their last 19 home games. Denver lost at this venue on Tuesday but have won 10 of the last 11.

Head to Head Record

Phoenix won Game 1 by 17 points. In the last 10 meetings, the Nuggets are 7-3.

Best Bet

Over 222.5 points = $1.91

Same Game Multi

Over 222.5 Points / C. Paul 9+ Assists / Mikal Bridges 11+ Points / F. Campazzo 2+ Rebounds = $4.10

Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks

The Nets are simply on fire at the moment after back to back dominant performances in this series. They won both games on their home court by an average of 23.5 points, which includes a 39 point thrashing in Game 2. The scary part is James Harden has a hamstring injury but the Nets have stepped as an overall unit in his absence. The mainstay of their offence without the Beard is Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Durant comes off 32 points in Game 2 and Kyrie added 22 in another good support role.

The Bucks surely can't play much worse after a heavy defeat in Game 2 by the tune of 39 points. Khris Middleton's shooting form has basically gone missing since Game 1 against the Heat. But as a team, they shot just 44% from the field in Game 2. They should get a boost on their home court in Game 3 & 4 but we'll need some improvement in all areas, otherwise this series could be over very soon.

Hard to back against the underdog Nets after a 39 point win in Game 2. They've covered the line in 4 of the last 6 meetings against Milwaukee and that includes 2 close losses at this venue in early May this year.

Stadium Record

The Bucks won both home playoff games against the Heat in their previous series. The Nets hold a poor 3-9 record at this venue.

Head to Head Record

Brooklyn leads this playoff series 2-0. Since 2019, the head to head is locked at 5-5.

Best Bet

Nets +4.5 = $1.76
