NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Thrsday 16 February

Denver Nuggets (39-18) at Miami Heat (32-25)

The Nuggets end their 3-game road trip in Miami on Tuesday and they'll be looking to build on their 14 pt win over the Hornets. On Sunday, Jokic led the Nuggets to victory without Jamal Murray as he finished with another triple-double (30 pts, 16 rebs, 10 asts). Murray could be back for this contest as he's questionable along with Aaron Gordon. But if both players can't suit up, Jokic will be the key for Denver in this clash.

The Heat are looking for a 4th straight win on Tuesday. They have struggled to put away the likes of the Magic, Rockets and Pacers as they've won all 3 games by under 10 pts. However, they're riding an 8 game winning streak on their home court and will start as favourites against the Nuggets. Their starting lineup will be something to monitor as Adebayo, Herro and Vincent are questionable. Oladipo and Lowry are both out already so Jimmy Butler will get plenty of the ball.

This should be a close game between these two sides and the trend looks to be a low-scoring affair. The Under has saluted in 8 of Miami's last 11 games and it's also 6-1 at home. Denver are 5-2 against the Under on the road as well.

Stadium Record

Miami are 9-1 in their last 10 at home. Denver has won 4 of their last 5 in Miami.

Head to Head Record

The Nuggets have owned the Heat with 8 wins in the last 10 meetings since 2018.

Best Bet

Under 223.5 = $1.91

Brooklyn Nets (33-23) at New York Knicks (31-27)

The Nets new lineup played together for the first time on Sunday and just fell short of the 76ers by 3 pts. Mikal Bridges scored a team-high 23 pts but as a team, they shot just 40% from the field. However, there will be some tough stretches going forwards for this team as they look to build chemistry. They'll likely go with the same starting 5 on Tuesday.

The Knicks are looking for their 3rd straight win at home when they host the Nets on Tuesday. They beat the Jazz 126-120 on Sunday as Jalen Brunson put on a clinic with 38 pts. He's now scored 30+ in 3 of his last 4 home games. The newly acquired Josh Hart played well off the bench with 11 pts and 4 steals. Mitch Robinson is still out with injury so Sims will likely continue to get the start in his absence and he's coming off 10 boards agianst the Jazz.

While the Nets have owned the Knicks lately, it will take some time for Brooklyn's new lineup to adjust. There's no Durant or Irving so the Knicks should be confident. They've also covered in 4 of their last 6 at home and Brunson/Randle are in good form.

Stadium Record

New York hold a 3-2 record in their last 5 home games. Brooklyn is 5-1 against the Knicks at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Nets have dominated this divisional rivalry with 9 wins in the last 10 matchups.

Best Bet

New York Knicks -2.0 = $1.89

Los Angeles Lakers (26-31) at Portland Trail Blazers (27-29)

The rejuvenated Lakers come off a huge 109-103 win over the Warriors without LeBron on Sunday so they'll be looking to get back-to-back wins as they head to Portland. LeBron has missed the last few games since breaking the scoring record but is questionable for this matchup. Davis is also questionable but has been playing through a foot injury. Dennis Schroder comes off scoring 25+ pts in 2 straight outings and should enjoy more playing time without Westbrook on the team anymore.

The Trail Blazers will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 138-129 loss against the Thunder on Saturday. They had a lead of 10 pts at one stage and Damian Lillard scored 38 pts. However, their defence continues to struggle and they've allowed a huge 126.4 pts in their last 5 games. They have plenty of injuries as well with Nurkic out and Jerami Grant is questionable.

While LeBron is questionable, the Lakers are coming off a confidence-boosting win over the Warriors without him and they should be able to handle the Trail Blazers. LA are 4-2 ATS against Portland and 7-2 ATS at this venue.

Stadium Record

Portland are 5-5 in their last 10 at home. Los Angeles has won 6 of their last 9 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Lakers have won the last 2 meetings this season and have scored 120+ pts in each victory.

Best Bet

Los Angeles Lakers +3.0 = $1.85
