- DEPLOYS ALONE ($3.70)
This looks like a fairly open race but I’m siding with the improved Deploys Alone, who has seemingly returned to form after a lacklustre end to his last prep. He’s finished no worse that fourth in his three runs so far, all of which have come on rain affected ground. A win looks on the cards very soon, and today might be the day.
- BADOOSH ($2.50)
Badoosh drops back in grade here after racing in a Saturday grade BM78 last start, winning gamely over 1800m. He was up against a solid field there, which included the talented She’s Ideel. Today’s assignment looks much easier and last time he ran midweek, he was able to score a 4.3L victory at Warwick Farm. Will take beating today.
- ACROPHOBIC ($2.80)
Has only had the three career starts to date, but has shown a lot of ability, particularly on debut, when he raced greenly but put in a superb run to nail the leader. Was slow into stride last start, in what was his first run this prep. He made up good ground late though and after settling 11th, he was able to run home for third. That was a promising start to the prep and he can certainly improve on that here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- NOTABADIDEA ($9)
Notabadidea has certainly had an interesting prep so far, progressing up in distance to 2400m before dropping back sharply in distance last start to 1550m. I’m going to forgive that run as it was unconventional, and he had excuses there. In his run at 2400m two back, he scored a good win at this grade, settling on pace before putting in a strong sprint to score. The jump back up to 2400m may test him, but if he can put in a similar run to two back, he might go close here again.
