- VITAL VERSE ($6.50)
Was very good first up at Kembla Grange after resuming from a gelding operation. He jumped on terms but quickly shot to the lead where he stayed until the 100m mark, where he was headed but battled fairly to the line. He can improve off that first up run here today and can look to score his first win.
- MISS FIVE HUNDRED ($3.00)
Looks the one to beat in this field after a truly dominant win at Cranbourne last start. She showed her true staying ability over 3000m, scoring a 4.75L victory over Field of Lights. She’s very deep into her prep now, but she looks like a dour stayer who should enjoy running over 3000m again here.
- FLEXIBLE ($2.10)
Was pencilled in to run on Saturday at Newcastle before the final few races were abandoned, so she lines up here today. This race looks hers for the taking after a very good run at Warwick Farm, where she went through the gears nicely and put in strong sectionals to score by 1.8L over Good Omens, with a further 3L back to third. Will be tough to beat.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- HIT RESET ($10)
Looks a decent value here despite a subpar run last start at the Lakeside track. Trainer stated that the “mare was in season” which could potentially explain the run. Prior to that, she finished just 0.7L away at BM70 grade to accompany a first up win at Benalla. She also looks to get a good run on the speed, which can be beneficial at Sandown. She looks a great bounce back candidate.
