KENSINGTON RACE 3 – 15:10 AEST
- BEEP TEST ($2.35)
Beep Test has been superb in her short career to date; she was good on debut, before enduring a wide run second up at Randwick, which was her last poor performance. She’s since scored two impressive wins, showing her versatility in each of them. James McDonald should be able to give her another peach here and she should prove tough to beat.
KENSINGTON RACE 4 – 15:45 AEST
- DAYSAN ($3.90)
Daysan is another runner who has gone from strength to strength this prep. The former USA runner is in his first Australian prep and was a bit flat over 1700m first up, which was fair enough for the import. He then jumped to 2000m & 2300m in his next two starts, winning both in impressive fashion. Gets to 2400m here on an upward trajectory & will be rock hard fit fourth up. Looks hard to beat once again.
- STELVIO ($3.20)
Stelvio looks the one to beat in the last at Geelong; he won first up on the Synthetic track at Pakenham, but has only managed three third placings in his past three outings. He hasn’t run poorly, but also hasn’t excelled. He’s simply been too far back in each of his past three runs & hasn’t had a proper shot at them. He has a favourable barrier position today & there looks to be a bit of tempo in this race, which should suit.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
KENSINGTON RACE 7 – 17:30 AEST
- KHAALIS ($12)
This race looks wide open & there could be a bit of value with the Waller-trained Khaalis, who has had just six career starts today. Like Daysan, he is also in his first Australian prep but unlike Daysan, he is still searching for his first Australian victory. He’s been close up in his past two starts but came up just short. The market seems to be underwhelmed by those performances, but I’m ready to give him another chance at the price.
