There’s been a ton of scratchings here but I’m siding with the newcomer Just Folk who was super impressive on debut. He lacked early speed and was in a dire position, but was able to quicken sharply and run them down to win. Did that on a Heavy track so no issues here. Extra 200m should suit.
CANTERBURY RACE 7 – 16:20 AEST
- BENTLEY MAGIC ($3.30)
The in-form Bentley Magic has absolutely relished rain affected ground in recent times, finishing no worse than two lengths away in his past five starts on wet ground. This run also included two wins, with the most recent coming last start at Warwick Farm, where he put in a top sprint home. Looks to get the run of the race in behind the leaders and can continue his great prep.
SANDOWN RACE 8– 16:30 AEST
- ELITE LEGACY ($3.90)
This Tony Noonan gelding put in a game run last start at Sale, when winning narrowly at BM78 grade. Drops 3kg after Grace’s claim here, which looks the key. He has now built a terrific record on Soft ground (15: 5-1-3) and with a few of these out of form, or first up, he looks like a solid bet to go back-to-back.

SANDOWN RACE 6 – 15:20 AEST
- PRINCE ZIGGY ($16)
Was a bit below par first up off a 161 day spell, but put in a similar first up run last prep, before winning second up. He’ll take great improvement from that run. He brings some solid form into this from last prep and should enjoy getting out to 1800m now. Campbell Rawiller on board helps bring his weight down to a reasonable level.
