- MY DEMETRA ($5.50)
My Demetra is second up here for the Snowden camp and looks well suited here. She resumed last start at this track, battling gamely to the line for a solid fourth, just 1.9L away. She generally takes a run or two to get going, so I’m tipping she’ll have some improvement to come after that run. She should get a good run in transit and should be there at the finish.
- OFF SHAW ($3.30)
Off Shaw has been improving with each run this prep; he finished 1.3L away first up in an honest return, before coming up against a good one in Matowatakpe last start. There was a huge gap back to third last start, so I’m confident a similar performance here could see him score victory here.
- MR GEE ($5.00)
Liked the look of Mr Gee at Randwick on Saturday, but he was scratched and now faces a much easier assignment here. He has had a turbulent prep, dropping out of two of his past three runs, but bounced back nicely last start, dropping back in class to score a win. He will appreciate this drop back in class again and should find himself in the finish.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- HOSTAR ($13)
Hostar looks to be an interesting runner here; he drops back in distance from 2400m to 1600m, however, he is also dropping in class. This is the easiest grade he’s contested since December 2020. He’s performed reasonably over 1700m before and finished just 1.8L away at BM70 grade in his last start over that distance. Looks worth a shot at the price.
