CANTERBURY RACE 4 – 14:30 AEST
- FIFTEEN ARIA ($2.75)
Fifteen Aria looks to be a promising type. She scored her second win last start in dramatic fashion last start, winning narrowly on the track before surviving a protest in the steward’s room after the race. She was slowly away there and sprinted impressively to score from the back. She’s second up today and has a ton of upside to come.
- SUPPRESSION ($2.80)
Suppression is on the way up but has done a bit wrong recently as well as having a touch of bad luck. Two starts back, he scored an impressive victory at Kyneton before heading to Cranbourne where he laid out in the straight. Jamie Kah takes the ride for Waller on this New Zealand up & comer who looks hard to beat here. Should be right there.
CANTERBURY RACE 7 – 16:20 AEST
- SOLAR APEX ($3.40)
Favourite Avion Fury looks hard to beat, but I’m siding with the Waller trained Solar Apex, who has done a lot wrong in his past few starts. Last start, he raced keenly over 1850m and was beaten just over a length. Prior to that, he was slowly away and blocked for a run at Randwick. I like him third up here over 1900m and I think he could be a big improver.

Think the veteran of the field Time Raid can run a sneaky race at big odds here. He resumed last start at Tamworth with 62.5kg and ran a solid fourth. A positive ride from Samantha Clenton should see him land somewhere near the front and he could run a race from there. He’ll take improvement from his first up run too.
