- D’JUMBUCK ($2.10)
Fourth up here for Jamie Kah and he looks very hard to beat against this weak field. He started at big odds two back and went down by a neck to Diamonds Inthe Sky, showing that he is a far better horse than the market suggested. He looks to get a great run up on the speed and should prove extremely hard to catch here.
- TARN’S PRINCE ($2.75)
Looks a race between the top four in the weights here, but I’m siding with the Cumani trained Tarn’s Prince for in-from apprentice Will Price. Has been very consistent this prep, having finished no worse than 2.7L away in each of his runs, including a win two starts back. He was a touch unlucky last start here, sitting midfield and held up at the 300m mark. Should get a better run today.
- EXCELIDA ($3.50)
Put in an enormous run at Caulfield last start, sitting third last at the 400m mark before flashing home late behind Miss Albania, who had booted well clear. Prior to that, she had also finished close up at Ballarat & Flemington in similar circumstances. Best horse in the race here, just needs to get the right run and today might be the day.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- LODESTAR ($20)
Has been in reasonable nick this prep, finishing close up in all but one of his five starts so far. He raced a bit flat last start at Caulfield, after enduring a tough run the start prior. He’s been given a freshen up for this and can rebound. He often requires a bit of luck in the run, but if he gets that, he can certainly finish close here.
