BLUEY’S BEST BETS - 02/09/2020

BLUEY’S BEST

WARWICK FARM RACE 2 – 14:00 AEST

  1. SIXGUN ($3.50)

Sixgun showed great talent on debut, sitting toward the rear of the field before unleashing a powerful sprint to score by a length over Camerlengo, with a further four lengths back to third. He was given a freshen up after that and ran in the Rosebud, where he jumped very awkwardly, missing it by 5 lengths. He picked up well to finish strongly behind some good types, including Anders, who won again on the weekend. Should improve off that run and looks a great chance here.

WARWICK FARM RACE 3 – 14:35 AEST

  1. DAMAGED ($3.20)

Damaged looks like a great bet in this small field after a promising first up run at Canterbury last start. He was the only horse to make up ground on a leader biased track and hit the line very strongly. He looks a likely improver jumping back to a Good track - his last run on a dry track was here in March, where he scored an easy 2.5L victory

BENDIGO RACE 8 – 17:05 AEST

  1. SHOTMAKER ($4.00)

There looks to be a couple of hopes here, but Shotmaker appeals the most for me. He’s come back well this prep, returning with a strong win first up at Wodonga before going down narrowly at Sandown last start. He contested some tough races last prep, so it’s no surprise to see him performing well in the lower grades. This looks well within his grasp again.

BLUEY’S BEST VALUE

WARWICK FARM RACE 6 – 16:20 AEST

  1. MILITARY ACADEMY ($10)

Was solid last start, finishing just over a length away at Hawkesbury. He was steadied at the 600m mark and chased well but winner Rabbit Clause had too much of a head start. That was his fifth start this prep finishing within just two lengths of the winner. Knocking on the door for a win and today might be the day.
