RANDWICK – RACE 5 1800m 16:05 AEDT
MUGATOO ($2.00)
All eyes will be on Mugatoo here who has to carry 60kg here despite the 1.5kg claim of apprentice Robbie Dolan. The English import was very impressive in his Australian debut, winning by a narrow margin in a higher grade than this over a trip that looks to be short of his best. Should enjoy the step out to 1800m and should prove extremely tough to beat again.
SANDOWN – RACE 2 1400m 16:15 AEDT
DIASONIC ($2.40)
Diasonic returns here from a 94-day-spell and piques some interest. He won on debut at odds before going down by 3L at Bendigo the following start. His third run then produced a narrow 0.9L defeat in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas at long odds. He looks to have a class edge over this field on his form last prep and if he returns to that form he’ll prove tough to beat here.
SANDOWN – RACE 8 1400m 19:30 AEDT
JUMBO OZAKI ($2.80)
The talented Jumbo Ozaki looks to have a class edge on this field. Was racing behind some smart types last prep, including Rox The Castle who progressed to win at Listed grade following his narrow win against Jumbo Ozaki. He did enough first up behind Bam’s On Fire and should improve markedly off that run. Looks a great chance here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
RANDWICK – RACE 6 1400m 16:40 AEDT
HERZEGOVINA ($7.00)
Has been racing well this prep, finishing 2.3L away in his return before following that run with a 1.5L 2nd at Warwick Farm a few weeks back. Should be primed here third up with a few weeks between runs. Favourites look a touch short in this race and I expect Herzegovina to run well here.
