- TOYZ ON FIRE ($3.20)
Was very impressed with the run of Toyz On Fire on debut. She sat towards the rear of the field but let down a powerful last 600m to score impressively over Derive, who lines up here again. She was particularly strong late, so I’m confident the extra 100m here should suit her even better here.
- ORIENTAL LILY ($3.80)
Put in an eye-catching performance last start to score over Charleise, who she meets again here today. She was absolutely dominant in that win, storming home to score by 2.5 lengths. Mixed her form a little before that, but if she can replicate that run from last start, she’ll prove very hard to beat here, particularly on a soft track.
- MISS DAMITA ($4.60)
Has been backed in to favouritism here after opening a generous price. Returned well first up at Ballarat, narrowly missing Moscow Red after letting down a strong sprint from the 600m with the tempo against. Looks in for a good prep, and this looks a great race for her. The extra 200m will suit.

Liked Terwilliker here, but now that he’s been scratched I think this race is wide open. Shangani Patrol maps beautifully here and should be able to control the race out in front. He was very good last start on the wet track but just tired to finish third. No issue with the 2400m here and the Heavy track conditions should suit.
