- PRESS FOR VICTORY ($3.50)
Favourite Extreme Emotion certainly looks to have some upside but the Hasan trained Press For Victory looks the more likely for me. The filly was solid on debut, despite being slowly away and blocked for a run near the 400m mark. She should push forward again today and might duel it out with the favourite. I’m backing Moloney to get her across the line.
- CELTIC GLORY ($3.70)
Celtic Glory seems like the type to improve with each run in her prep, so I’m tipping that she’ll be ready to go here third up. Last start, she was up in class significantly at Group 3 level and never looked comfortable, tailing the field throughout and finishing over ten lengths away. She’s back in class here and should find this race within her reach.
- AROUND THE HORN ($2.80)
Favourite Around The Horn has had just the one career start and looked very strong on debut, winning by 0.5L at Murray Bridge, despite racing keenly throughout. He was then spelled and finally resumes here today. I’m looking forward to see if he can make the required improvement here, but I’m confident that as a 4-year-old horse, he will make the required step up. Certainly the one to beat here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- RAYSIM ($23)
This looks like a tricky race, which includes the most runners of any race at Bendigo today. There looks to be a great value bet in Raysim however, who was excellent when returning to a dry Echuca track over 1000m. He won by 1.25L, but admittedly did have a perfect run in transit. He was carrying 62kg there, so hopefully today’s weight drop will offset the rise in class. A replica performance of last start would make this a very interesting race today and we’re getting huge odds to find that out.
