- YANGTZE RAPIDS ($3.80)
This Waller trained runner has displayed talent in the past, but has had excuses in his past few. Last start, he raced erratically, with T Berry hearing noises from the gelding’s throat and he was confirmed to have suffered poor post race recovery. He was spelled after that run and returns today after a gelding operation. If he returns to his previous form, it’ll take a great debut from the favourite here to beat him.
- APRES LA MER ($2.25)
It’s generally a questionable tact taking shorts about an eight start maiden, but Apres La Mer looks a great chance to remove the maiden tag here. She’s been knocking on the door for a win during her career, finishing second four out of five runs this prep. She’s raced against Oxley Road and it only looks a matter of time before she wins her first race.

- EXCELTIC ($6.50)
Open race here with Blesk headlining the betting, however, Exceltic looks the main chance here in my opinion. He’s been racing consistently so far this prep, scoring a win first up and finishing close up in his next four runs. He should be more suited returning to 1400m here after dropping to 1250m last start.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- RIPPA CHOICE ($11)
The unbeaten Pale King dominates the betting here, and rightly so after two impressive wins to kick off his career. It’s a very open race if he comes up a bit short here though, and Rippa Choice looks a great value bet. He’s had three starts this prep and has performed a touch below par in each of them. He looks a great chance to improve and could surprise here.
