BLUEY’S BEST
FLEMINGTON RACE 3 – 13:55 AEDT
- VITRUVIUS ($4.20)
Alcyone comes up as a deserving favourite here, but is certainly not unbeatable and I’m looking for up & comer Vitruvius to improve stepping up to 2000m here. The Horsham based galloper is on the up and has been slowly increasing his distances. Last start was his first go at 1700m and he handled it with ease, settling toward the rear and charging through to score. Can improve again here.
- ROCHA CLOCK ($4.00)
Rocha Clock has been a bit below her best this prep, failing to secure a victory in each of her two runs. She hasn’t been poor, but definitely below her lofty standards which have seen her win at stakes grade before. She’s been a bit tardy leaving the gates this prep (as is her racing pattern), but if she can settle a touch closer here with Tim Clark on board, she will be incredibly hard to beat. Also expecting a hot speed here from Fashchanel & Electric Girl which will suit. Looks the one to beat.
FLEMINGTON RACE 9 – 17:50 AEDT
- DUCHESS OF DORSET ($3.20)
The lightly raced Duchess Of Dorset looks a great chance to take out the final race of the Flemington carnival. The five-year-old mare has had an impressive start to her short career, winning three times from just four starts. Last start, she pushed forward and used the rail to her advantage, scoring an impressive 2.3L victory at Bendigo. This will no doubt be her hardest test to date, but she looks up to the challenge.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
FLEMINGTON RACE 5 – 15:15 AEDT
- ZAYYDANI ($11)
Zayydani finished close up last start over this distance, just one length behind the talented Duais. Up in class here, but this race looks wide open and she’s shown in the past she can handle black type races. She should be rock hard fit here fourth up and will have the entire Flemington straight to wind up. She could be a chance to finish over the top of them here.
