BLUEY’S BEST
- THE ELANORA ($3.70)
Lightly raced runner for Chris Waller, who looks to have a lot of upside still to come. She raced at Newcastle first up but was unfancied, and ran accordingly. He then exploded the following start at $41, scoring a massive win in Maiden grade. He showed that was no fluke, running second the following start and then winning at Group 3 level last start. Looks like the penny has dropped and he can go on with it here.
- ACCOUNTABILITY ($3.10)
Looks very hard to beat here. He was unsuited first up over a shorter distance, but got out to 1800m the following start and drove late to score a narrow win over Stockman and Vegas Jewel. Followed that up with another impressive victory (albeit on protest) at Kembla Grange over 2000m. Sticks at 2000m here and should prove very hard to beat.
- THE ASTROLOGIST ($2.60)
Has been racing well this prep and probably a touch unlucky not to have another win, going down narrowly in his past two starts. He was brave two back but was unable to beat Exhilarates in the final stages. He endured a wide run last start as a short favourite at Ballarat and went down narrowly against Sisstar. With a better run in transit here, he can secure his second win for the prep.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- POST FREE ($10)
Wide open race here, so I’m going with some value in Post Free who is coming off back-to-back wins after a freshen. She scored a nice win at Canberra last start over Upscales, which bodes well for this. Prior to that she scored a strong win at Gundagai over 1400m. She has relished getting out beyond 1300m this prep and looks a potential improver at 1800m.
