- TYCOONIST ($2.60)
Tycoonist looks a terrific bet to start the day at Rosehill; he was good in defeat last start in similar conditions to this, finishing 0.3L away from Papal Warrior. Dropping back to BM72, he should find this a touch easier. He’s had three runs for two second placings on Heavy ground, so there should be no issues on a rain-affected track.
FLEMINGTON RACE 5 – 14:15 AEST
- STAR OF UMA ($4.00)
Star of Uma makes the trip across from South Australia, after an impressive win last start at Morphettville. She scored a two length victory over her rivals there, hitting the lead at the 300m mark and dashing away. This will be a step up in class, but she looks very capable and should prove very tough to beat here again.
FLEMINGTON RACE 8 – 16:05 AEST
- THE ASTROLOGIST ($4.00)
The Astrologist was unlucky two starts back at Eagle Farm, where he was caught three-wide without cover for much of the race. In fact, he had a similar run first up at Doomben. He got it done last start at Flemington though, settling on pace before taking over at the 400m mark and holding a narrow margin to Hi Stranger & William Thomas. He shouldn’t have any issues from gate 7 here and should be in front at some stage.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- SEPULCHRE ($41)
Favourite No Compromise looks hard to beat after back-to-back wins. However, Sepulchre looks a juicy price here considering she scored a gutsy win last start on rain-affected ground. She raced over 2000m, where she sat on speed, hitting the front at the 200m mark, and holding on at the finish. The step up to 2400m should be no issue; she finished 1.8L away in BM72 grade at the back end of last year. This will be her hardest test to date, but she looks well over the correct odds.
