FLEMINGTON RACE 4 – 14:20 AEDT
- OXLEY ROAD ($2.60)
The talented Oxley Road looks the one to beat here out of the Moody stable. He was good last start in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint, winning by just under a length to the speedy Malkovich. The stallion has had just six career starts today, winning three of them. He still has plenty of room to improve and looks very hard to beat here.
- MASKED CRUSADER ($2.65)
Masked Crusader had a terribly unlucky start last time out in The Everest, ultimately costing him the race. That is his racing pattern, so we can expect the same here, but I suspect he’ll be able to round up this lot with the right run. There looks to be plenty of pressure up front and no Nature Strip this time around. He’ll be finishing fast and gets a chance for a consolation Everest prize.
- DELEXO ($3.20)
Delexo looks very hard to beat here for Wyong based Kristen Buchanan. The country galloper has gone from strength-to-strength since moving to the city, scoring a solid second placing two starts back, before notching a very impressive all-the-way victory at Randwick last start. Goes up in grade here, but he looks like he’ll be able to handle that without issue. Maps beautifully and looks incredibly hard to beat.

Open race here with a number of winning chances. I’m siding with Bless You, who has seemingly returned in better order this prep, after moving to a new stable after a disappointing Winter prep. She has finished runner up in both starts this prep and now moves to Group 3 level - her hardest test to date. She’ll have every opportunity to wind up down the Flemington straight and can finish over the top of them if she’s good enough.
