- ANOTHER ONE ($2.35)
Another One brings plenty of upside into this after a dominant outing last start at Wagga. He sat midfield and let down impressively to score by a huge 3.5L margin. Prior to that, he scored an all the way victory, also at Wagga. He’s only had the three career starts, and they’ve all been at Wagga, but I’m confident he can measure up away from his home ground.
MOONEE VALLEY RACE 7 – 16:40 AEDT
- BARTHOLOMEU DIAS ($4.60)
Has put in two very solid runs this prep, finishing just two lengths away in the Seymour Cup first up, before heading to the Kyneton Cup and finishing a narrow second behind Mongolian Marshall. He’s been right there in each of his Australian starts, excluding one failure at Flemington last prep. I think he can go one better than last start here and score a win.
- THROUGH THE CRACKS ($5)
Through The Cracks will be near the tail of the field here, but he’s coming off a strong win last start at Newcastle over Edison and Chat. That was over 1300m, and for me he looks a much better horse when getting out slightly further. He’s only had two starts over 1400m and has won them both. He should relish the 1500m and will by flying late.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- SAUSEDGE ($10)
Has had two starts this prep for a fourth and a third, but I really liked the way he hit the line in both of those runs. He sat toward the rear of the field in both runs and managed to finish under 1.5L away both times. There looks to be a bit of pace here which will suit Sausedge, and perhaps he can storm over the top of them late. Looks a nice price to find out.
