BLUEY’S BEST

BENDIGO RACE 1 – 12:15 AEDT

  1. SECOND SLIP ($2.65)

Jamie Kah looks like a great chance to get punters off to a winning start at Bendigo. She rides former New Zealander Second Slip, who has been on fire since making the trip across. He won at Murray Bridge first up, before heading to Sandown and winning once again. He was then freshened and returned to South Australia, where he scored another win and a narrow second. He returns to Victoria here and looks extremely well placed against this field. Can win again.

ROSEHILL RACE 1 – 12:30 AEDT

  1. ISOTOPE ($3.00)

The highly talented Isotope returns here after a failed run at the 3YO Magic Millions Guineas, where she lost rider Ryan Maloney at the 400m mark. Prior to that, she had been in terrific form, scoring two strong wins and a narrow second. She jumped $2.15 in the Guineas, and this doesn’t look too much more difficult. Can bounce back here.

BENDIGO RACE 8 – 16:50 AEDT

  1. KENYA ($4.60)

Kenya looks an interesting runner for Robert Hickmott; after being spelled for nearly two years after running overseas, he resumed at Flemington in the middle of last year and ran tenth. It was clear he was underdone and was quickly spelled. He then returned at Mornington in the Spring and scored an impressive 5.25L victory before heading to the Group 3 Sandown Stakes and finishing a game 2nd. He resumes here again today and I’m confident he will pick up where he left off last start.

BLUEY’S BEST VALUE

ROSEHILL RACE 9 – 17:50 AEDT

  1. VULPINE ($14)

The scratching of Tailleur has opened this race right up and I think the speedy Vulpine can give this a shake at big odds. She’s been in tremendous form recently, scoring three wins from her past four runs and another second behind the talented Andermatt. Last start she dominated Seasons & Emanate with a bold frontrunning performance. She can dish out another similar performance here.
