BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 23/11/2019
BALLARAT – RACE 2 1100m 12:55 AEDT
PRINCE OF CAVIAR ($7.50)
The son of Black Caviar resumed last start after a lengthy spell and he was heavily backed to win the race but could only manage 2nd as the short prices favourite. It’s likely that he needed that run under his belt and he should improve significantly second up off the back of that. This race does look to have a bit more depth but we get a much better price here and with the improvement to come, I’m happy to be on.
KEMBLA GRANGE – RACE 4 1200m 15:00 AEDT
LUCICELLO ($2.70)
Really liked the return of this Waller trained mare? first up. She was last for most of the race before unleashing her customary sprint to win fairly easily in the end. She strung together some brilliant runs last prep and showed that she can hold form. McDonald takes the ride here and can take her to 2 wins from as many starts this prep.
BALLARAT – RACE 6 1600m 15:20 AEDT
BUMPER BLAST ($4.20)
This Hickmott trained runner looks to be a horse on an upward trajectory. Scored a devastating 6.75L victory at Sale in only his second career start before winning impressively again at Flemington in the Grey’s race on Oaks Day. Beat Platinum Angel that day who has since ran well at Group level. Has a brilliant turn of foot and there looks to be no reason to jump off this horse who has a tonne of upside.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
KEMBLA GRANGE – RACE 7 1000m 17:00 AEDT
BRAZENPINE ($7.50)
There looks to be a couple of decent horses going around here but perhaps the Snowden trained Brazenpine presents the best value. Up in grade here after scoring an honest win at Hawkesbury last start. Could easily have 4 wins on the board this prep after suffering two narrow defeats but I think will run well again here. Talented rider Tim Clark has opted to keep the ride which is another positive sign.
