MORNINGTON RACE 1 – 12:15 AEDT
- MICRO ($2.20)
Micro can get favourite backers off to a flyer in the first on Mornington Cup day. He lines up against what looks like a very weak field as he looks to notch his first career victory. Two starts back, he put a brave run to finish second behind Cheerful Legend before heading to the Group 2 VRC Sires at Flemington the following start, where ran a strong third. Short, but certainly the one to beat here.
- ISOTOPE ($4.20)
The highly talented Isotope returns here after a failed run at the 3YO Magic Millions Guineas, where she lost rider Ryan Maloney at the 400m mark. Prior to that, she had been in terrific form, scoring two strong wins and a narrow second. She jumped $2.15 in the Guineas, and this doesn’t look too much more difficult. Can bounce back here.
MORNINGTON RACE 6 – 15:25 AEDT
- DOM TO SHOOT ($3.50)
Talented WA galloper who made the trip over tho Victoria this prep. He resumed at Group 3 level but was slow to begin and hit the line strongly late. Second up, he over raced at stages and dropped out to finish 13th. He certainly has the talent, having finished third at Group 1 & 2 level over in WA. A drop back in class here will do him wonders, and he can return to winning form.

MORNINGTON RACE 3 – 13:25 AEDT
- DIAMONDESQUE ($13)
This Snowden trained filly scored an impressive win on debut at Moonee Valley before quickly being spelled before returning, and failing in her next two starts. She was then spelled again, and subsequently returned in much better form, scoring a second at Sandown despite knuckling at the start. This prep, she’s finished within two lengths in two out of three runs and looks primed for this fourth up. Wide open race and she can certainly feature.
